Thank goodness the guy wasn't armed during the interview.....I honestly believe Pers might have been in serious trouble.

Folks like Jones convince me that military semi automatic assault weapons and extended capacity clips or magazines should be banned from the civilians in America and those which are out there should be collected and donated to the military....they need them.

Don't misunderstand me....I was in the military and ever since 1958 I've owned guns. Right now I have a .38 S&W Chief's Special, a semi automatic 12 gauge Remington shotgun and a .30 .30 Marlin rifle. None of them are capable of firing 100 rounds in less than a minute.

Mania is not necessarily a component of schizophrenia, which I certainly don't think Mr. Jones has. People with manic disorders aren't necessarily bad people either. He does have the signs though.
Ok, good, since you have the qualifications, (which I doubt, but I'll take your word for it), you would know that a 8 minute hostile interview (and yes, if Alex had been timid them piers would be hostile), that you could not use that to psychologically analyze the person with any accuracy.

But you think he's manic, well, I've known a number of people that had been diagnosed as such, and frankly, none of those people are able to run their own lives without support, nevermind running a large media organization.

You do know that most people that take psychology / psychiatry are crazy themselves and seeking to self-diagnose... I'll start looking for sources before you ask in response.

I never claimed I was a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Nor did I reach a diagnosis on this interview, I said he displayed the signs.

And yep, plenty of people with psychological disorders have achieved success in history. Do I really need to list examples?

Ya, I think Alex jones has bigger plans than spending much of the rest of his life rotting in a jail cell.

I would rather have more guns around so that when someone does go crazy and start shooting, that there's a better chance that someone nearby would be armed and be able to have a better chance at ending the madness BEFORE POLICE arrive.

Oh, and a well armed society is a polite society because anyone you slight has the capacity to end you.

Also, since it seems that most mass shooters also tend to commit suicide once confronted, the sooner someone confronts them the sooner they might choose to end the rampage themselves.

Yes, and every human trait has a psychological disorder associated with it... Especially if you were to look at the newest publishing of psychological designations (can't think of the title of the document ATM).

And yes, you are right, about successful crazy people... And like I said, I've known a bunch of "crazy" people that are completely functional, and still have knowledge to offer. Thanks for making that point, which raises the question, what's your purpose for panelling him crazy then?

The absurd thing here is how easy it is to prove you wrong: Generosity. Done. Now let's stop with the making up nonsense and pretending it's true.

    Re: Is Alex Jones "Crazy"?

Like Alex Jones, I'm an Austinite. I've heard his radio show on several occasions. Jones has an odd way of gathering information. Well, actually, it's not all that odd as I see a lot of people doing the same thing in forums such as DP.

Jones continually offers sources to back up his "theories". The problem is that he acts as though everything that he reads (mostly from the Internet) is reliable and valid.

That leads to my conclusion about Alex Jones. I can clearly hear him say, "Just because I made it up...doesn't mean it's not true."

    The end.
