For something as big as a home purchase? You bet I think it's worth it! The best contracts are those where everything is spelled out and everyone understands their responsibilities and options under the contract.

MO - just like my name says.

And we're talking about 1995, which is when I bought my current, and most likely last, home. In today's $$$ that's ~$30, more of less. $20 fees for 10 min was pretty common back then. I'm sure it's more now but, like a home inspection, it was worth every penny. Today I would look it up on the Internet without it costing me a thing.
