LOL. Especially if you were a quality control inspector with that dept., what job that would be.

Drinking age should be 18 for an unaccompanied minor, but waived if the parents are present.

I was referring mainly to Ontario. I have no idea how other Provincial govt's, other than Quebec, caretake the sale of alcohol.

I think the drinking age should remain at 21.

Well his recent accomplishment is that he found a loophole that allows people to buy alcohol from other provinces and bring it to B.C. as long as it's for personal use. It's an old law form the prohibition days that said you couldn't transport alcohol between provinces and we just never got around to repealing it but that would be the job of the federal booze minster. Too bad the Liberals are gong to be crushed and he'll be replaced with a New Democrat but maybe he'll do something awesome aswell.

They all have liquor control boards like in Ontario as that was the condition of the repeal of prohibition but Alberta privatized it. That's my understanding anyways.

Edit: Yes they all do, some provinces also extend it to gambling.

We are all finished with the stone, bronze and iron ages so let the drinking age begin now.

Probably there shouldn't be any hard and fast rule. Restrictions on selling it to minors makes sense, but the illegal nature of alcohol drives teens to drink in secret, which is much more dangerous than doing so in a more public environment. If someone drinks too much and gets sick, then their friends fear to call for help since they will be punished. The societal position that alcohol is evil probably needs to go by the wayside, as well. Children need to be taught how to drink responsibly in a safe environment, not forced to hide and drink in secret.

In my experience most people start drinking well before they are legally allowed to. I would also like to know why the U.S. has a right to guns in it's constitution but Canadians can't have alcohol considering it played a very important part in confederation. I personally believe there should be no drinking age.

I say 18.Your old enough to vote and old enough to be sent to war,so you should be allowed to drink alcohol.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Re: What Should The Drinking Age Be?

For all of you who want a high drinking age, do you think that will stop those under the age from drinking? They already do anyways so why bother?
