You're still operating under the assumption that making it illegal for law abiding citizens to have guns will save more people, when there in fact is no correlation. Switzerland has almost as many guns per head as we do, but their murder rate is a super small fraction of ours, and one of the lowest in the world. It doesn't have anything to do with guns, it has to do with our society, which we really need to work on.

    Being below average is acceptable?
Also if you look at more developed regions of the world such as Europe or Asia we look even worse.

I agree with the bettering society part. Lets begin with not allowing guns to be privately owned unless there presents a need. If you want to go hunt, you should go to a gun licensed range where guns are less accessible to those who wish to do harm. Not that I think killing animals for sport is all that glamorous to begin with.

What happened is very sad, but repealing the 2nd Amendment will make us less safe, not more. We will be at the mercy of criminals, and the most vulnerable... women... will be subjected to more barbaric behavior; namely rape.

If we repeal the 2nd Amendment, then we should abolish automobiles. 40,000 to 50,000 Americans die a year due to their use. Perhaps we should outlaw anal sex too; it's the superhighway to HIV AIDS. Perhaps we should outlaw alcohol... it leads to a lot of misery.

You want safe? Then outlaw everything that brings risk.

This tragedy will fall into the "never waste a crisis" moment for Obama and his crew. It seems we've had the signals already.

I did say weeks ago he wanted to inflict major damage on the 2nd Amendment... that's what fast & Furious was about. Did he weep when Mexicans were being slaughtered by guns his administration ran? No. They went into coverup mode.

What has happened is sad and comes at the worst of times, but it isn't reason to make our nation's citizens less safe and repeal their rights.

I've obtained them legally and I have them for protection - IF NEED BE. I don't sleep with one next to me, I don't have them out in the open and my children (both teens) are well aware of safe gun handling protocol.

Some drugs are illegal in this United States, but yet people can get ahold of them if they want them. Making guns illegal to own (repealing the 2nd) is not the answer, as people with bad intentions will find a way to have them.

So sorry, but nobody is taking my firearms from me.
As you've seen in this case, the man took his mothers gun. If you want to go hunt or to a shooting range I think that's fine but should be kept by a licensed organization.

Of course it could be - sure - but why the **** do we need it repealed when it being there isn't quite the issue?
A screaming comes across the sky.
It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

It can...but is HIGHLY improbable that one of the Bill of Rights will be repealed in our life time, sans the entire thing somehow being scrapped.

By a licensed organization? Uh, no. It's kept in my home, in a safe... locked, UNloaded, ammo in a different safe, and well secured.

I am a responsible person. Does that mean everyone else is responsible? No. Don't punish me because someone else is a freaking idiot.

Sure, dude...any Amendment can be repealed....any Amendment can be enacted. Doesn't always mean they will, or should, be.

But when talking about one of the Bill Of Rights, you should take extra care when you want to think about messing with them.

How long will it take before a law that's out dated by over 200 years be repealed?

The founding fathers had the intention of arming their militia against the British.
You libs have picked a battle that you're just not going to win this time.

Higher gun deaths ? What a generic goofy braod brushed statement.

Yes CRIMINALS shoot each other alot in the US.

    Good riddance.

I encourage liberals to push full tilt with their newest and most retarded agenda driven objective yet.

    Good luck

Protect us from murderous thug entitlment minded liberals.

Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in America.

    Hasn't stopped gun violence.
    Texas, conceal carry.

Turns out criminals know where the law abiding public is armed and where they are not.
