How many more years will Democrats need to fix the economy?

How many more years will Democrats need to fix the economy?

Democrats will never fix the economy. Free trade and domestic resource production will.

How many more years will Democrats need to fix the economy?
How long will republicans dominate the congress? As long as we have that pathetic excuse for a congress don't count on the economy getting fixed anytime soon.

Umm... Did a bunch of republicans in the house change parties and give control of the federal govt to the democrats or something? Cuz, I dont remember seeing it on the news.

It took 30 years to break it, its going to take 30 years to fix it. There are no magic wands.

The only way the democrats will ever "fix" the economy is when our capitalistic economy fixes itself... Unknowingly, they are actively breaking it so it can't bounce back.

An economy like ours is expected to crash periodically and it will pick itself back up. We could have done NOTHING since Obama came into to office and the economy would have picked itself back up, possibly even a better recovery then it is now.

If our economy DOESN'T rise back up that is a serious problem, saying we are putting a serious dent in the way our economy is functioning.

Did that make sense to you because it sure didn't to me. Republicans control the congress which means they control the spending and the revenue.

>implying that the Democrats haven't controlled the Senate since January of '07

What does this have to do with the title of the thread?

What a poorly created poll. The subject is "Enlightened Society". Did you mean "Entitled Society" or something else?

Then you ask about one party fixing the economy. What hubris that economy needs fixing. The history of the world is that any mandated economy will produce unintended consequences. Look at the culture of Greece where tax evasion is a national sport. Pick any other underground economy like the "illegal" drug trade. How is that one working out?

The Democrats are in on the fix, along with the Republicans. They ain't looking to fix nothing.

Well for two years they have and for the next two--welcome to the game--a GOP Mandate. Obama must give them what they want :2wave:

The right question to ask is: "How long will the Democrats control the White House, the Senate, AND Congress, all at the same time? You don't have to look very far to find your answer.

Don't you think two years of enlightenment was enough to keep the Left in total domination, indefinitely? Instead you got your a**** kicked, and helped bring the Tea Party into the spot light.

The economy doesn't need any fixing.

Those who deserve to be living well are.

Those blue collar workers who got too greedy had their jobs sent to China. They are getting what they deserve.

The US officially made a shift to the Left during this last election, as the majority of this Country voted for Barack Obama, for the second time. Liberals and Progressives are considered to be the "enlightened ones", so it stands to reason that America has officially stepped into the "Enlightened Age". In essence, we have become an (or the?) enlightened society, hence the name of this thread. It's now up to the shepherds of enlightenment to overcome what little opposition they have left, and guide this country to Utopia. The question is, how long will it take?

I suppose never. Seems like everytime they do, a Republican moves in a screws it all up.

The economy is like a sand castle. The dems build it, the GOP comes and kicks it down.

So I'm going with never.

Soon as they figure out to pay for the last 40 years of enlightenment first.

These are the errors in thinking. Government can't *fix* the economy. The economy self-corrects well, if left alone. Government pouring money into it only prolongs imbalances, and prevents it from working efficiently.

I think this thread should be moved to the partisan hackery thread. Fits much better there than here.

BTW, just a friendly reminder...don't strain yourselves too hard patting your own backs. Don't want you to pull a muscle or anything.

With this one post you might as well change your lean to democrat. Your current "undisclosed" status has been reft away.

It's a fair question, isn't it?

Poor Democrats.... when-o-when will you ever get to build America up to total government dependency?
