Yes and no. Romney cost the GOP the election because he is Romney and a flawed candidate on so many levels. His gaffes, mistakes, history, and so on all contributed to the problem.

But saying that, the people who ran... not many were better than Romney.

And in the end we saw no amount of hype or wishful thinking can compensate for a well run get out the vote election machine... something the GOP does not have.

Santorum was far too right on social issues to ever stand a chance. Romney was a better candidate than Santorum. Rick's views remind me a lot of a theocracy rather than a democratic republic.

I think he was worse than Herman Cain and Bachmann.

Santorum always looked like he was constipated. That would have hurt him even if he were a flaming liberal republican. Stuff like that matters more than people think.

I just have to ask. Who's the person in the poll that said Santorum could have beat Obama?

I want to buy that person a beer, (or a glass of milk.) LOL!

Just define "true conservative". It shouldn't be that hard.

How likely do you think a Santorum win would have been if he had gotten the nomination?
No chance, whatsoever. Santorum is like repellent for independents.

If you create RomneyCare, you're not a true conservative.

"Something like Bismark for instance" is not a definition. I know conservatives aren't that smart, but thinking isn't that hard.

Or maybe you just need to do some study on Bismark and then all will be illuminated.
