Just leave Mount Rushmore alone!
I understand your reasoning, and somewhat agree with it. I am somewhat uncomfortable with an idolatry aspect.I've seen Mount Rushmore. It is certainly impressive.
Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln were certainly huge figures in our history. Teddy Roosevelt... well he was quite an interesting character but not of the same magnitude as the others.
Personally I am not sure it should ever have been built though. I felt about it much the same way I felt when I stood in the Lincoln Memorial in DC.... yes it is impressive, but I feel uncomfortable about portraying human beings, however important, as larger-than-life demigod-like figures. It smacks of idolatry to me.
I don't think W is of the same caliber as Washington, Jefferson or Lincoln. Now, Teddy.... well, I found the guy fascinating but he just isn't in the same league. You could compare W to Teddy and they wouldn't be that far apart in magnitude.
But no, I don't favor putting any more faces on Mt Rushmore.
The wailing and gnashing of teeth by those on the left would be worth it alone for the entertainment value.I vote yes because it would be funny.
I really think public polling would more reveal who understands sarcasm when they see it and those who don't.I wish this poll was public so anybody that answers yes could quickly be added to my list of posters that are biased hacks and not to be taken seriously.
He was one of the worst presidents of my time
I want to see Nixon carved there.

*Created* treason?Hell no. He lied to the American people and created TREASON...he should be tried in criminal court for war crimes.
*Created* treason?
Could you explain that a bit more?

FDR deserves his own memorial to make up for it.
You are right and it is a pretty impressive one at that. As it should be. Here are his 4 freedoms etched in stone for eternity. He does have one.
Another is on the way, as well.
