Red, white, blue (please, note the flags)... English language... capitalism... culture... etc.

Can America be considered a British child?
:2razz:

In the respect that our founding ideas and documents were primarily conceived and written, with current (at that time) English law and standards in mind, yes.

Hell no! We use proper English, have better sports, much better food, and in general are better civilized.

Let's see. English banks financed voyages for profit. English banks owned 'bout everything. We paid tribute. We threw off the yoke of the Bank of England and now we seem to be banking partners. Who'd a thunk it?

I thought we were talking about your connexions with Britain?

I don't think America was ever a "child" of GB. If anything we are more like a slave that fought and won his freedom.

Why you English German American! :2razz:

Spanish will soon be the national language in America. Can't come a moment too soon.
I'm partial to Arabic, myself. Middle Easterners have a geographical disadvantage, but they seem to be more organized in their violence.

If so, I hope the Queen tells Obama that he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

And if she did, I'd hope that he'd punch her in the tit. **** that bitch.

Technically, we don't speak English right. They started English, even the name English is derived from England.

He was making a joke...

...that said, even the English don't speak English correctly anymore. It has evolved. It has regional dialects.

The 150 million Americans or so that speak the "common English" that we hear in movies and on TV all the time are the majority. I would call that the proper English now. The West Coast English. It is what I speak.

The British flag is actually a compilation of 3 other flags. How would the British flag change were your goal of bringing the US into the British fold occur?

You mean "more civilised" that is the proper English. handegg.jpg

Actually Proper English, is called "Recieved Pronounciation" which pronounces all words in correct English. Also America has regional dialects as well.

The English cannot be trusted with the English language. Running around calling stairs apples. Sorry, but you forfeit command of the language. Also soccer is lame and real football is awesome. Also hockey. Cricket is a waste of 3 days. The only thing that England can do even remotely close to right is beer; and even there America has you beat. As such, "better civilized" is proper English.

Oh, and your food sucks.
