They will be alright in the end...but this country has to make the hard choice to tell people living within a certain distance of the coastline...if your house gets destroyed or sustains so much dmg...you cannot rebuild. As long as you have people that want to live right on the water and hear it splashing your going to have the rest of the country paying absurd insurance premiums for them. Lets get this right its mostly the very rich living right on the water or having second and third homes there...were all supplementing their lifestyle.

I get that, I'm just responding to the question presented, and those on the affected areas will, in fact, be alright. We're the most powerful nation in the world, a hurricane won't change that.
 
Those living in the United states of America could wake up tomorrow to find themselves experiencing a completely different world than the one they are comfortable with today. Christmas is CRAP! You know why.
