my daughter is too busy to shop this time of year unless it is on line....she spends a lot of time on the computer finding deals, posting them on her site, and watching the commissions rack up when people link to stores through her site. She, and her business partner, made $3500 in commissions in one day from ONE store.....plus what they got from all the other stores they link to...
The internet is amazing....lots of things have come along and changed the world, but I think the internet will be the biggest of them all...

I've worked retail before on this day. It is hell to put it mildly. People go insane and as a worker you have to be a sheep herder throughout your shift. I have refused to even go within a 5 mile radius of a retail store on this day.

I chopped firewood this morning and will go fishing thirty minutes from now. The only thing I'll be buying today is gasoline for my outboard motor and bait.

The wife.......now that's a different story entirely....

I usually buy NOTHING...all my grand kids and great grandkids get cash...My wife doesnt need any christmas presents, she just gets whatever she wants all year round.
Having said all that this year is a little bit different....I did order all the part necessary to build her a new computer...I was astonished at how cheap it was to get ALL the parts necessary to build her an amd 8 core powerhouse...which is far more than she needs for what she does...but it was so damn cheap lol....

Seriously, cash, the best gift of all.

Neither. If I go shopping then I am not waiting in line before the stroke of midnight to do it. if I do not do any shopping its because I do not want to do any shopping on that day not because of some social activist retard nonsense.

Go with the nonsense. Then you can have an overinflated sense of self-importance

You both hit why I stay laid back on Black Friday. I am not anti consumerist by any stretch, nor do I really care what the stores do with policy. I just don't feel like putting up with a crowd showing less restraint than a herd of cattle.

Definitely Black Friday shopping. It's been a tradition in my family for years. In fact I've got most of mine done already. My wife and I just stopped back by home briefly for lunch and to drop purchases off before heading back out.

This year was particularly fun, since we decided to adopt a family for Christmas, so we had 4 and 7 year old boys to buy for, and we both love buying kids' toys.

You're doing it right. Most of the people out there want to buy a bunch of things for relatives, coworkers, etc. but you actually are helping out a family down on their luck. Kudos!

I will not be leaving the house today, nor for the entire weekend if I can help it. I refuse to engage in the madhouse. All of my Christmas shopping has been done for a while anyhow.

Oh we bought a ton of stuff for family and friends too.

I just went and got some decorations, beer, and Mountain Dew. No Christmas shopping for now.

Not going anywhere near the city. I tried to a few years ago and it was a complete zoo. Much happier spending the day with family and relaxing then saving a few bucks in that hellish environment.

I think its a horrible day!

I buy nothing at big box stores between Thanksgiving and January 2 unless something happens that forces me into a Lowe's against my will.

I shop online at Amazon on Black Friday and all month...great deals...and always shop on Cyber Monday online...don't shop in the stores these to days because don't want to be trampled over...:)

Yep. If people want to know what a complete crisis would look like they need only go to Black Friday sales, you'll see the worst in people.
