But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Go with the nonsense. Then you can have an overinflated sense of self-importance

You both hit why I stay laid back on Black Friday. I am not anti consumerist by any stretch, nor do I really care what the stores do with policy. I just don't feel like putting up with a crowd showing less restraint than a herd of cattle.

Definitely Black Friday shopping. It's been a tradition in my family for years. In fact I've got most of mine done already. My wife and I just stopped back by home briefly for lunch and to drop purchases off before heading back out.

This year was particularly fun, since we decided to adopt a family for Christmas, so we had 4 and 7 year old boys to buy for, and we both love buying kids' toys.

I usually go, but not this time. Today is "Do Nothing" day.

You're doing it right. Most of the people out there want to buy a bunch of things for relatives, coworkers, etc. but you actually are helping out a family down on their luck. Kudos!

I will not be leaving the house today, nor for the entire weekend if I can help it. I refuse to engage in the madhouse. All of my Christmas shopping has been done for a while anyhow.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.
