Good job.....and stay on them. I was all over Sessions azz for letting Obama put Kagen on the SCOTUS. Tell the good Ole Boyz if they don't get with the Program we will run their azz out of Politics all together. Their days are numbered.....time for pasture! ;)

excellent approach. threaten the elected representatives if they do not vote your way
sure fire method to achieve your goals

2 days ago I contacted Several Republican Senators telling them not to vote for Leahy's bill For Reading Emails. I also told them to squash Lieberman's ideas as well. That if we find out they voted for it. Then they will have to deal with a Concentrated Effort to remove them from Office and or vote them out.

Asked for support for Rand Paul and Coburn in squashing Leahy's Bill.

The Difference being.....It will be Republicans coming after them. Not Democrats! Moreover.....we know how to make it hurt when it comes to our alleged own.

As far as I am concerned, anyone can read all of my eMails all day and all night. I do have at least a double digit IQ, and if I do wish to hide something, I'll use our US mail..
Those who are doing things "under the table" should not be so lazy.
I do not think that eMails should be private, so remember, every coin has two sides..

I contacted both Senators Sessions and Shelby in my state urging them to vote against NDAA. I was ignored by Shelby, but had contact with Sessions. Sessions gave me the run around and told me that it was in our best interest or something along those lines. I responded quickly and never heard back. I contacted them about SOPA. PIPA, and CISPA....all for not though because they both voted in favor of all three.

I will be contacting them again about this e-mail legislation. I find it essential to contact your Senators/Representatives if you want to express outrage or try and sway their vote.
Just because a particular vote doesn't go your way doesn't mean it was all for naught.

I agree, to an extent....
Its important that our representatives know how we feel about things.
I think that they should send out a well designed form letter in order to know "what is going on".
The key here is "well designed".
I'm on an e-mail list for one of my Senator's newsletters. It's decent, but of course it's all positive in his favor.

Not claiming it is for naught...I'll continue to write them.

Last week, I wrote heated emails to both my MP and Harper. I do so quite often as well.

Keep on them.....especially any Repubs that want to cave over the Rice issue.

I do not put any value on the Benghazi thing right now. I feel that it was a tragedy and terrorist event. However, I feel right now that the most important issue is our fiscal situation and the continue devaluation of our currency.

I fear that people just don't realize how weak the American dollar really is and the only thing propping it up is the "World Reserve" status that won't last forever. Paper currency has historically failed when not backed by a commodity like gold or silver. As countries continue to try and back out of it (even though that may lead to military conflict as was the case in Libya and Iraq) we will see it lose that status. When it does...we're looking at massive inflation to a point never seen in this country.

When is the last time you wrote to your Senator or Representative (or state/local equivalent) to either support or oppose a piece of pending legislation?

When the SS controversy started. I know it does no good, but it makes me feel better.

Both are equally important. Course we know from 2009 who is pushing us over that fiscal cliff and was the one who made the fiscal cliff. Still we cannot allow Susan Rice to become the SOS or even to keep her spot in the UN.

She is a disgrace and embarrassment to the Country. Not to mention she has been out played, out maneuvered, and out-witted in the UN. We can't afford to have weak, sniveling people in Foreign Policy. Plus don't forget she was the Clinton Drone that was part of Somalia and that tragedy. Screwed up with Sudan and has had the Russians walk all over her azz. Time for Susan Rice to quit playing off Daddy's credentials and to hit the ranks of the Unemployed!

She should look into the Mirror and take note.....she was never Up to the challenge in the first place.

I far and away disagree with you that both are equally important. I find this Benghazi situation to be a cloud over the real problem which is our currency devaluation. Susan Rice and foreign issues are not nearly as dire as what I stated about our currency.

I honestly could care less who Obama appoints as Secretary of State. I am more interested in the Secretary of Treasury and the Federal Reserve chairman. We keep having these distractions over the more dire issues in this country. It was a tragic event that happened in Libya, and Ambassador Stephens should always be remembered as a great American who gave his life to duty of country. I will not deny that, but we cannot allow our attention to be diverted away from our fiscal issues.

We cannot continue down this path of printing endless amounts of money while having no oversight on it. The Fed has no oversight and that is pretty damn scary when you think about it. Former CEOs of Goldman Sachs run it, and they can spend tax payer money without accountability. If that doesn't strike a cord with people, then something is wrong with you.

We should always remember the sacrifice of Ambassador Stephens and those killed with him, but we cannot divert away from our deficit and endless dilution of our currency.

Let's see.... I live in the Communistwealth of Taxachusetts. We have two Liberal/Democrat US Senators. We have ten Liberal/Democrat US Representatives. The Senate here in Taxachusetts consists of 40 seats, 36 of which are held by Liberals/Democrats. Of the 160 State Representatives 133 are Liberal/Democrats.

As a Conservative, Who the hell am I supposed to send these letters to?

Well, even if there were conservatives in your state, you'd still be an outlier anyway.

True. My point was simply that some of us don't even have anyone to talk to in our area, nevermind actually trying to get them to listen.

I sent an e-mail asking about clarification on one of his positions. I got a responce fairly quickly.

Never, unless my rep is Independent.

I am ignoring the other childish things that you think necessary to say about your state.

Then we probably have no basis for discussion. Have a nice day.

I stopped writing to Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow because I ran out of anthrax.

The last time I wrote my congressman was to encourage him to fight the abolition of the Constellation Program.
