    healthcare and businesses

Should businesses be forced to offer healthcare to all full time employees? Why or why not?

    I dont think they should.

Freedom does not mean forcing things upon people. I believe in freedom.

This type of regulation discourages hiring, giving hours, and even bringing jobs back or enticing foreign companies to bring jobs here.

Please dont turn this thread into an pro vs anti obamacare thread. Focus on the subject. Obamacare is about much more than just this.

Not if they give money to Obama and Democrats. Then they are exempt. That's how it works.

When there was greater competition for employees, healthcare was a marketing tool to lure them into working for you. Now that there is a huge worker surplus, there is no reason to have it to lure in workers, especially when there is now so many private options and so few epidemics and such.

All of above is true. But should businesses be forced to offer it?

No. There is no business purpose in it anymore so it is a violation of the fiduciary duty to the stockholders of corporations to do it voluntarily and Obamacare makes it unnecessary to force it upon employers since everybody can get health insurance on their own with the company and policy they choose outside the 4 walls of their workplace.

Only if an employee is injured on the job or suffers a job related injury should an employer pay for their employee's healthcare to fix that injury or treat it if that injury can't be healed. All other medical stuff is the responsibility of the employee to pay for.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

i vote no. remove health insurance from specific employment entirely. the way it is set up now is insanely inefficient. every time i switch jobs, i have a whole different plan, and the COBRA in between jobs is utterly unaffordable. while i like single payer the best, i'd support letting everybody buy private from the same pool or giving them the chance to opt into a public plan.

this was the biggest failure of PPACA : we still have the stupid employer-specific health insurance model.

No, thats why I am in favor of single payer healthcare.

With the single payer option on health care should individuals be forced to participate?
