If Obama is impeached

If obama is impeached should romney be seated as president

As I understand the Constitution, if a President for whatever reason cannot complete his term, Presidential succession directs the Vice-President to assume the office of the Presidency. If after an election but before the Electoral College meets in December, it is determined a president-elect (or second term incumbent president-elect) cannot take office in January, the Electoral College delegates are free to pick anybody they want. Since the Electoral College delegates are hand picked by the party/campaign of the person who just won, its a given that they'll pick someone of their party and most likely the Vice-President-Elect (or second term incumbent president-elect). In this hypothetical, there is no way democrat party state big shots from around the country are going to elect anybody but a fellow democrat if President Obama cannot serve, most likely Joe Biden but possibly Hillary Clinton.
If the president is out then the VP is next in the line of succession. Then next in line is the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Although the line of succession goes way down the list there is no need of going lower unless we are at war and everyone else has been killed.

Obama sucks but no where near as bad as a Biden presidency

both would have to be removed at the same time and then Boehner would be president

not as bad but Boehner's no Romney

You'd prefer Romney to Boehner? I'm just curious. Personally I tend to respect Boehner more, but - for what I assume are obvious reasons - I dislike both of them intensely.

I don't think there's a law against impeaching 2 or 3 politicians at the same time.

Something stinks to high Heaven in this Benghazi affair. I think obama was directly involved in not helping those guys and lied about it. While that in itself is not an impeachable offense what he has done to cover it up may or may not be, time will tell just how deep of a hole he has dug himself into.

I'm getting the same smell you are" too many players involved , same Movie, different lines, If and when IT comes out there will be multiple chain reactions.......... as said time and the player will tell.........

I live a couple miles from his turf. He's ok but He's a bit more of a social fascist than I like

Makes sense. Obviously I agree, but I dislike most Republicans on social issues (also some Democrats).

I dont want Obama to be impeached I just want him to come to the center and pull a Clinton......but if he were to be impeached....the last one I would want is Biden...that is just scary  So I would have to say Romney over Boehner.......but Boehner over Obama.....

actually i don't think that he would be in the case put forth by the op. Because in this case biden only got the vice-presidency due to fraud caused by obama. As such if there was fraud, that would mean that obama never actually got elected. And as such it would have been romney that was elected. See biden wouldn't be president for the simple fact that the votes never supported obama and by default him.

What you would be doing is putting biden in position against the peoples wishes.

Also technically there would be no impeachment. Because in order to be impeached you have to be a valid president. Gaining that position through fraud would mean that you were not technically voted in by the people...which is the only way to become president.

wtf!!

All 7 people who voted "Yes" need to take a basic civics course

We tried to oust him on election day. That didn't work so now we've got to look for some other way like impeachment to get the job done.

yeah keep clawing for that peace of mind.. instead of looking in the mirror keep pointing the finger...

It was lying under oath, actually.

It was lying under oath, actually.

I always thought lying under oath was the 'official reason' but the true reason was an accusation in the Starr Report of prior sexual assault by a credible witness/victim and corroborating testimony from other witnesses although the statute of limitation being expired and no criminal charges ever filed.

I realize it can't legally happen but in a perfect world if obama was impeached for something he hid to get reelected Romney should be made president.

How? Why? Romney still lost the election on both the electoral college AND popular vote. So why should the LOSER be president?

Whats so hard to understand about what I said?

If Obama, in the spirit of this thread, committed fraud then he is not legally the President. In the case of the Presidency you can only impeach the actual President. Since Obama committed fraud in order to win then he would not technically be the President. No impeachment necessary. Just go straight up to him and arrest him. Romney would be the President because without the fraud committed by Obama he would have won. So no, Biden would not become the President.

You actually have any evidence Obama committed Fraud?
