Do you think the sanctions that Penn State received from the Sandusky

I think they should have closed the school down, sent everyone home and try to forget about Penn State and Joe Paterno. And prosecute every single adult that knew it was going on and thought their sorry football program was more important than stopping a child molester, with a charity that exposed him to lots of kids. He had a harem and the school straight up enabled him. So no, I dont think the sanctions were adequate.

I used to be a big Penn State fan cause I thought it was such a great program.

Tell me why should players and coaches of the team in the present who had absolutely nothing to do with the crimes that Sandusky committed be punished?

Please respond to the poll I created.......thank you

As soon as you figure out how to create a poll I will be glad to.

If administers knew this was going on, they need to be punished. As for punishing the whole of the school, no. They did no wrong. For the football team? Well, there had to be sanctions that came down and that sucks. But it couldn't be allowed to go unpunished, it must be made clear that this behavior is not only illegal, it will not be accepted by college organizations. Sucks for the kids that had nothing to do with it, but thems the breaks.

I guess I am just stupid, where the hell is the poll?

I agree with you on the people involved in the scandal.........So then you believe that the present day team who have committed no crime needs to be punished to?

It suddenly appeared, funny...

Anyway, Joe Paterno and the football program built that school. Countless people knew exactly what was going on, no one did enough. And yes, I think any normal human adult that was aware of the situation would be duty bound to do everything possible to stop it, even if it cost you your job. The school is truly an abomination. Plow it under.

it's sticky. I don't think they deserved to be punished, but the program for which they serve does. It isn't really fair to the players that had nothing to do with it; but the program cannot be absolved of wrong doing when they did wrong.

OK fair enough.........So you have no problem with people who are completely innocent of any crime being punished for this scandal.

The program there now had nothing to do with the program that was there then...I was raised in Western Pa. and am a huge Penn St. football Joe Pa fan and was crushed when this came out and I personally believe it killed him and he lost the will to live.

I believe the school is corrupt to its core. The kids should be dispersed to other schools, the teachers find jobs elsewhere. The core of the school is rotten, I am not kidding. Think about it, a significant number of people knew exactly what was going on and it was covered up because the people running the school or involved with the school thought the football program was more important than those kids. That culture should not exist anywhere.

a tiny minority covering something up does not make a majority guilty. the students there have no responsibility for this. and dispersed? you understand penn state is likely the only local school for many of them? think a little. unless you're offering to pay for their transit/moving costs yourself?

Ok, why even have sanctions? Just use harsh language on them in a meeting and go on. This is one of the most heinous crimes I can imagine and it was condoned by the core of the leadership at the school and several others clear down to custodians...FOR YEARS, and the guy actually had a harem. Ever institution develops a culture. The best thing for the kids would be to get them out of that culture. If allowed to continue, the message is there is nothing more important than the football program. Whatever in a couple of years everyone will forget it ever happened, wont that be great?

but your plan would punish students. that's not acceptable. the sanctions in existence now are unacceptable. this was not the majority of the school, this was a few corrupt employees. and these arent kids. this is a university. you can't say 'it's best for the children' when you're dealing with adults. :doh

your plan unfairly punishes the poorest penn state students who will likely not be able to afford to transport/move themselves to a more distance university of similar academic quality.

i understand this is an emotional issue for many people, but the students of penn state should not suffer because a small minority of their campus leadership had sex with children/covered up sex with children. that's like me going to jail because my 2nd cousin molested a schoolgirl and my aunt didnt tell anyone.

Like I said, if that is what you believe then there should be no punishment. I just dont see it that way. Reasonable people can disagree.

punishment for the people involved, the students were not involved. you are being unreasonable.

It should, he allowed child molesting to go on, for years, and not only condoned it, but also squashed attempts to stop it.
