It may be because child custody cases, from what I've heard (I could easily be wrong here), tend to benefit the woman better.

This is very true. It is changing slowly but it is still very slanted in the females favor. One reason is the "if it ain't broke" system that sees women as primary care givers since men work. Once separation, men that want more care of children are often denied due to the fact that the woman was the primary care giver and the Courts don't want to see that change. I am going through this now. It is uphill the entire way.

Highly circumstantial on a case by case basis. No answer is universal.

This must be case by case.
Judges have a very tough task.
The children must be the "winners" (actually they must lose as little as possible)
No one wins in a divorce.
If only the parents could realize how much they hate their children when they do cheat.
Maybe you should leave it up to the family itself - broken or together - to figure out if someone hates the children at all or even if it's bad at all that a divorce is going on instead of outsiders who aren't involved at all and who know next to nothing trying to thrust their hands into the mouth of truth hoping it gets bitten off.

It's a rotten, false concept that being together is always best. . . hopefully it is best. Hopefully it is - but ti's not a standard rule of life. My mother's life is much better off because her biological parents put an end to their horrid ridiculous catastrophe of a marriage. At least the kids were able to come home to a peaceful house at the end of the day.

The only thing that can ever matter is the good of the children, and I don't hink (having had some experience) that parents who hate one another are fit to be consulted.

Have you been married and had children? I'm a bit confused about your understanding of the bonds of marriage and with one's children.

I dont believe in divorce, but if its the resort then I believe it should be a grey area. The government should inspect how the welfare of the children would be with each parent.

Amen. It should always depend on whats good for the children and what they want.
