After a few states just recently voted in favor of legalizing recreational cannabis, I can't help but wonder how long it will take for the feds to find ways to shut that whole thing down.

I say yes. The "drug war" is one of the biggest money-making and power-grabbing scandals in US history. Obama, the Dems, and the GOP make more money for their buds with pot illegal.

Thoughts?

wouldn't Obama, the dems and the GOP make more money if it was legal?

it is my hope that the Obama administration wastes zero resources enforcing federal anti-pot nonsense. it's time to legalize. kudos to the states that didn't wait on the feds to do it.

pretty much, as long as we can produce it commercially and tax it appropriately. it's a win / win.

It'll pass with flying colors. It's a new world, sucker! Get with the new program, or move to Utah!

what would be the appropriate tax for weed?

I imagine the feds will do raids like the do in states with medicinal marijuana laws.So I am not sure if there will be any bars that cater to pot smokers or if convenient stores will be selling prepackaged pot.

The feds will probably continue to make a half-hearted effort at marijuana enforcement...but from a practical perspective, it will be very very difficult for them to do it without the cooperation of the states.

I think the Feds will attempt to enforce the Federal law. I'm against that but it is what they've done in Cali, etc. i was amazed that Obama was so intent on enforcing marijuana and poker laws. It seems downright un-American.
