I don't like any of your choices.
It should be paid for by the government.

Typically a lot of corruption also on who get's the contracts, and a lot of added expense to taxpayers. We need true free market competition on the contracts.

Here is what we need, to stop giving public money to private profit, and start having public, not for profit companies to the public works, we don't need corporate subsidies in the form of contracts.

....if you want the infrastructure to be designed and erected in an inefficient, corrupt and cheap manner then hand it over to the private corporate sector and facilitate it through Wall Street

Sure just like ... Where has that worked again? Ever???

Oh, and how is wallstreet gonna get a return on investment?

Wall street doesnt need a return on investment - its a criminal syndicate that steals from everyone and hands it over to the rich

wait what? Then why would we hand it over to them? Am I not getting it, are you being sarcastic?

Private companies usually do things much faster and cheaper even with a profit to owner. For example Wollman Ice Skating Rink in New York City. In 1980 it closed for what was suppose to take 2 1/2 years for renovations and after 6 years of Mayor Koch and city government fooling around with it and costing a ton of tax payer money, which I am sure the unions and organized crime loved, Donald Trump offers to do the renovations at a fraction of the cost and it was done in 3 months. I think one of the main reason those in power in the Democratic party love infrastructure is it is a way to pay off the union and organized crime bosses who then work hard to give them millions of union workers votes. A ton of corruption is involved on awarding these contracts, a lot of bribes. Makes it very expensive to taxpayers as a large percentage is basically stolen. I wouldn't be in favor of any big infrastructure projects until all this is cleaned up. I don't think the Democrats will give up all those future votes by pissing off the unions and organized crime. That's the corruption. Anyway that is my jaded perception, I could be wrong on the amount of corruption. I think both parties are corrupt in some ways.

Then why is Statoil one of the most profitable companies in the world? Also Donald Trump can't really be the gold standard of efficiency, given the amount of times he's gone bankrupt, I mean you gave on example I can give many of when infastructure was done through contracts and done less efficiency.

I also guarantee you that the state was taking up most of the costs while trump was taking most of the profits, effectively robbing the public sector.

As far as Unions, yeah, they may require higher wages, which is good for the whole economy, as far as Organized crime, we don't like in the 1970s anymore, and as far as I know they hav'nt been involved with public sector Unions.

As far as the bribes in awarding contracts ... Not ****, thats the whole problem with private contracting, if the public sector did it themselves you couldn't have that problem.

I don't care if it is public or private as long as it is the best deal for taxpayers. I have no rigid ideology other than best deal for taxpayers.
