I think it has gotten worse each election recently. Someone needs to say enough.

Nah, Obama's reverend had it right. God damn America.

Love your neighbor, love your town, your city, your state, your brothers and your sisters. But America? Let's bust this place up.

Neither party gives a damn about the country, just about getting into power. I'm just waiting until they start shooting at each other like the Hatfields and McCoys.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

And it starts with the Republicans giving and the Democrats taking, right?

It does not really matter wheather or not he lives up to his victory speech. A junior senator winning a second term of office is no mean feat or fluke.

Haha- that will be a looooong wait, as men don't believe in duels anymore, but prefer to just outspend each other and take the rest of us over the cliff with them.

You're not understanding the tradition behind the rhetoric doesn't make it what you think it is. Sorry.

I don't buy that about either party. Certainly they had self interest, as do most of us, and money is too involved and thus hinders real work, but there are some decent people trying to do some good work. Disagreeing on what is best for the country doesn't amke anyone evil.

I have no clue what you're talking about. All I'm saying is don't appeal to my sense of patriotism, because I could care less about America.

I like most Americans, but I don't care about America.

No. But there's a link on another thread listing pages of Obama compromises. And frankly republicans were left out of the healthcare debate when they made clear their only objective was to derail the president for re-election. I don't like seeing that in either party. Some conservatives make excuses for that behavior. They shouldn't. Nor should anyone excuse pruely obstructionst behavior from democrats. But even with healthcare reform, a lot republican ideas were included. And still, I suspect you don't see that as giving to republicans. I have to tell you, many liberals believe he gave too much. Odd how different vantage points read things quite differently.
