Who Appears More Desperate & Frightened?

Based on what I'm seeing here at DP, the conservative/right seems much more desperate. More frightened about this election.

I'm seeing many more threads from people just begging for support towards Romney. Very VERY chicken-little styled threads.

The fearmongering and attempt to intimidate and change people's minds based on some idea that the country will collapse into the fiery pits of hell if Obama is elected are quite telling.

I'm not seeing those kinds of threads from the left.

Why does there appear to be such desperation and fear?

Its close.... maybe 60 - 40 with the right in more absolute fear than the left.

Give me a vanilla milkshaeke with those fries please. No, seriously, I have not been on DP long enough to know who of the voters are more afraid, b ut of the candidates, Obama seems definitely more depserate. He used to send the "Yes we can!" nonsense in 2008, and now it's all "It could've been worse."

Re: Who Appears More Desperate & Frightened?

Why is "fear" such an over-riding theme though?
Is it simply the best motivator of our time?
The easiest tool to use in the toolbox?

Do people honestly believe the entire country's future is in jeopardy today?

2016 is right around the corner. We're not electing a "dictator for life" type leader.

Plus - there's still the entire congress that people seem to completely forget about when it comes to power and control.

All the fear-mongering horse-excrement being thrown around is strictly leveled at Obama/Romney and none of it is around all the other possibilities for all the other races involved in today's elections.

Seems we place way too much importance on the POTUS and wash over all the rest.

I don't know...I'm not seeing it. I guess you are going to have to show me a breakdown of conservative/liberal desperation threads.

Anyway, I have no fear. Whichever way it goes, our country won't dry up and blow away.

Do I have my preferences? You bet. Do I think my guy has a good chance of winning? Hell, yes. Will I die if my guy doesn't get elected? Not a chance.

I don't know but the President was crying this morning at a campaign stop...it means something...I just don't know what.

Re: Who Appears More Desperate & Frightened?

I'm concerned, but not "frightened". I think both sides are equally concerned and expressing it in different ways. From the left, you have a lot of last ditch efforts to destroy Romney's character. From the right, you have a lot of last ditch efforts to reinforce Romney's chances/discredit polls.

But what both have in common is a significant lack of defense for Obama's record/attack of same.

Re: Who Appears More Desperate & Frightened?

I voted the right of course because that is obvious! lol

BUT lets be clear the nutball hacks that make me answer "the right" for this question do NOT represent normal people on the right. They are the group of partisan dishonest rightwing hacks that we have here at DP.

Nonsense from attacking christie and blaming him if Mitt loses, to saying " I really am afraid this election" , to saying the Dems are already cheating at the pools, etc. etc

but in general nobody take these loons seriously, just like the group of hacks we have here on the left. Its just currently the right loons seem more worried.

Romney will not issue his missing tax returns. Obama will still insist on Marquis of Queensbury rules even after a baseball bat smashes his skull reteatedly.

2- Romney will win by less than 2% as a result -.

3- the GOP will hold the House - perhaps increase their numbers by a few seats - also due to the massive influx of right wing money in October.

4 - The senate will switch control to the GOP as well giving them a majority but less than the 60 necessary for total domination. The thing that will get them this victory is the massive amount of money coming in from right wing circles in October.

5- The same kind of stuff we have seen in Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan will begin to happen in the Congress when we effectively have one party government.

6- Despite not reaching 60 votes in the Senate, many new laws will be passed of a far right nature due to a lack of spine among many Democrats who roll over and play dead not having the guts to do to the GOP what the GOP did to them the previous four years.

7 - Much of the progressive reforms of the 20th century will be repealed as fast as humanly possible by the GOP Congress.

8 - President Mittens will smile broadly and look much like the Hollywood casting figure he works so hard to be and signs all the new right wing legislation.

9 - Unions will be a target and their power cut even more with legislation.

10 - Taxes will be cut on the wealthy.

11 - A flat tax will replace the graduated income tax.

12 - Right wing libertarians and conservatives think they have died and gone to heaven.

Those are my predictions. I am serious.

    What are yours?
The bolded parts sure look like fear...am I wrong?
