As John Maynard Keynes said "as the facts change I change my mind? What do you do sir?"

What happened to cause those changes was SANDY. I believe it changed the narrative and stopped the Romney momentum. And you cannot say enough about the impact of the comments from Governor Christie which really helped the President.

Now if Romney wins - and by my calculations it will only take a shift one one state for that to happen, I still stand by predictions for what would result in a one party government.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

The Left is always afraid. This is what happens when you have a low moral base.

BUT lets be clear the nutball hacks that make me answer "the right" for this question do NOT represent normal people on the right. They are the group of partisan dishonest rightwing hacks that we have here at DP.

Nonsense from attacking christie and blaming him if Mitt loses, to saying " I really am afraid this election" , to saying the Dems are already cheating at the pools, etc. etc

but in general nobody take these loons seriously, just like the group of hacks we have here on the left. Its just currently the right loons seem more worried.

Most people in the real world don't give a **** about the majority of topics we post. Oh, they might have a passing interest, but, basically? They're busy with their lives. Their real ones.

    True dat.

We are a group fairly well defined by our shared zealotry.

1.) I totally agree with this and thats why i posted my "lets be clear part"
2.) I meet a lot of people that care about the topics we post, well at least that i post in
3.) but what is certain the total dishonest hacks that we have here i do no encounter in real life, either because they are simply trolls and dont believe the stupidity that falls out their mouths or they are afraid to get punched in the face in real life

I said the right because they are the ones here at DP who have been "begging" independants and undecideds to vote Romeny......they also seem to be the most upset when they hear someone voted 3rd party instead of giving their vote to Romney.

I think clearly its the right. Voter suppression would not be occurring if the right wing governors thought they had a chance. Also the increasingly desparate campaign ads.

Do people honestly believe the entire country's future is in jeopardy today?

2016 is right around the corner. We're not electing a "dictator for life" type leader.

Plus - there's still the entire congress that people seem to completely forget about when it comes to power and control.

All the fear-mongering horse-excrement being thrown around is strictly leveled at Obama/Romney and none of it is around all the other possibilities for all the other races involved in today's elections.

Seems we place way too much importance on the POTUS and wash over all the rest.
Theres some science to the effect that conservative types respond more.strongly.to threats to the "tribe".

    That's exactly what I'm seeing.
