    Where did Mitt go wrong?

Even if you still believe Mitt has a shot tomorrow, the fact that you are not confident of a win the night before the election has to be disconcerting. After all, Obama was quite vulnerable this time around and a really good candidate and/or a really good campaign should have the Republicans anticipating victory tomorrow rather than simply hoping things break their way (which they could)....

So, assuming you either think Mitt is going down to defeat OR you are disappointed of where he is standing on election eve, what would you say was Mitt's biggest mistake in this campaign?

    A) Mitt ran too far to the right
    B) Mitt ran too much in the center
    C) No one knew where Mitt was running - he flip-flopped a few times too many
    D) Mitt failed to tack to the center soon enough
    E) Mitt could not stay on topic: the economy
    F) Ryan was a poor choice as a running mate
    G) Mitt should have been more aggressive campaigning in other rust belt states (WI, PA, MI)
    H) Mitt was just a bad, bad candidate
    I) The Jeep ad did him in
    J) None of the above - Mitt ran a great campaign

    Other????

^^ This is exactly correct. All the while he was doing it he was throwing mud like a child acting like they aren't ideological butt-buddies.

Mitt tries to act like a hardcore republican when the tv cameras are on him, because that's what's expected of him, but his voting record and career tell a completely different story.

I wouldn't really pick any of the options up there. I'd say he suffered more from a lack of charisma. He was never able to change the spirit of the Republican campaign from "against Obama" to "for Mitt Romney." He managed to provide himself as a decent alternative to Obama, but I'm not sure very many people are enthralled with him as much as they just dislike Obama.

    Stupid thread.

You act as if he's lost already.

I suggest waiting for the fat lady and after she sings her song you'll have plenty of opportunity to ask what Romney...or Obama...did wrong.

agree: the biggest issue was the same as it was for Hillary. The MSM is in love with Obama and has done everything possible to support his presidency. The reporting on stuff has been very biased.

examples-the Libyan debacle coupled with the fact that an Obama voter moderated the debate where that matter was critical

point two-the dishonest claims by Obama that Romney "said" it was fair for someone making 50K should pay a higher tax rate than he does-the MSM did not note that people making 50K a year do not pay an effective FIT rate of anywhere near 14%

it's far too early to declare this one over, because it has barely begun, and could go either way. however, I can say that I didn't consider him for a vote because he chose the neoconservative, hawkish version of himself rather than the moderate version. had he run that way, victory would have been more likely in the general, but he would have lost the primary right after Huntsman.

The lipstick on a pig is a perfect choice. I went with that. In the end - and in the beginning - Romney is simply wildly out of touch with the vast vast majority of the American people. He has shown he will say anything and flip flop on any position to win the nomination and then the election.

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers
