Liberals love narratives, stories. so here's one for ya. Think of the wealthy as geese who lay golden eggs. The golden eggs are jobs. Now, what kind of diet are yu gonna provide for these geese?

A skimpy, miserly diet or a good, nourishing and healthy diet?

And especially when you know that the good diet means more golden eggs.

    Libs are so childishly stupid.

Hardly. Heard a 18 year old college student kick his butt once. He was reduced to merely yelling "why do you hate America!" So, refuting him is easy. In this case, just require him to actually produce valid support. It would be a new experience for him.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Not sure where you get this nonsense, but no, that doesn't reflect what I think at all.

Maybe that simply takes more than four years to accomplish. It took more than four years to tank the economy. As long as we are making progress, then I think we're headed in the right direction. Reverting back to the policies that crashed us in the first place is hardly a step forward.

Yeah, it's hard for a lot of folks to shake that serfdom mentality. Some think that this is still the middle ages and society exists to benefit a tiny minority of powerful people at the expense of everybody else.

No part of the golden goose analogy is true. Intelligent people in their garages found companies, based on a new idea for a great product. Hardworking middle class people make those products. Nowhere in the equation are rich people actually necessary. The real golden geese are the creative minds who develop the next big idea, not the market strategist that helps them reach a bigger audience.

I voted zero, because I genuinely don't know. Who can enlighten us?

Great stuff going on in the Public Sector, but I'm not even sure if that impacts the economy. And what about the Private Sector? what has the President done for that area?

Keeping anyone working certainly helps them as there is more money to spend. However, on a quick search I did find this:

The U.S. auto industry is roaring back, adding new auto jobs across the country. While we’re on the right track, there’s still more to do.

But it’s important to note the progress we’ve made and how the policies President Obama is putting in place are helping strengthen our economy.

Some key economic measures of where we stand today:

    • 31 straight months of private sector job growth.

    • Highest private sector employment since 2008.

    • Best manufacturing job gains since the mid-1990s.

    • Highest manufacturing output in four years.

    • Consumer confidence at highest level in five years.

    • Lowest foreclosure rate in five years.

    • Home prices seeing strongest growth since late 2006.

    • Household net worth at highest since 2008.

Obama revitalized economy, added private sector growth - GulfCoastNewsToday.com: News

Obama’s plan is a little more detailed but still incomplete, Hudak said. The president is focused more on investment. He wants to invest in specific areas such as education and infrastructure.

Increased investment in infrastructure definitely would create jobs, Hudak said. Whether they will be lasting jobs is unclear. Improving infrastructure also would help commerce, he said, explaining that if our roads and airports were in better shape, for example, it would cost less to transport goods.

    (snip)

Obama would pay for some of his proposals by raising taxes on higher income people. The idea of using the money the U.S. saves by ending the wars, however, doesn’t pan out mathematically because those conflicts added significantly to the national debt. “It’s not necessarily free money. It’s just less money that we’re borrowing.”
