I know people gave their lives so that I could have the right to vote but I've never enjoyed standing in line for going on an hour for anything, the post office, fire drills at school or even voting. Before there was early voting, in my state absentee voting was available but it supposedly was only supposed to be used if you were not going to be in town on Election Day. I would tell them I was going to be out of town thinking I'll be technically honest if I drove to one of the suburbs and have lunch at McDonalds there. :cool: They've since changed the ridiculous requirement that absentee voting is only for people out of town on Election Day and extra cool, you can also vote the week before the election at an public library on one of the elections offices. Some people are purists and/or traditionalists and are really into the culture of Election Day voting, seeing and even participating all the final day electioneering, getting people to the polls, etc. I have a friend who actually distrusts early and absentee voting as being vulnerable to fraudulent handling.

Did you vote early or by absentee? Why? Are you waiting for Tuesday? Why? Do you have any troubling concerns or past experiences with voting early or on Election Day?

I voted by absentee. Its optimized to work vote by mail but I pick my ballot up in person, filled it out at night and brought it back in person the next day. Back in 2000 I think I did the same and there was an interesting situation. When I brought it back it was on Election Day so I assumed it was go straight into the ballot box at the elections office that doubles as a voting precinct for people living in the area. Instead the elections office employee asked what party am I a member of (its a closed primary state where you have to declare a party affiliation to vote in some elections) and placed my ballot on in a corrugated cardboard box. Not sure if that was unusual. :confused:
 
Yeah, but only because Halo 4 is coming out on Tuesday and I didn't want to have to go vote after I got home.

I'll vote Tuesday. I've never had to stand in line; but my job's always been such that I didn't have to wait until evening to vote. I suppose after-work voters have to wait . . .
 
My job requires that I spend the day electioneering back in the district. Because of I that I vote by absentee.
 
lines are short where i live, so i always vote on election day. i kind of dig doing it that way, but i love that early voting is available. it gets as many people to the polls as possible.

I'm probably the only one this applies to on the forum, but there should be an option "No, I am too young to vote."
 
I am waiting until election day. Standing in a line for a couple of hours is not my idea of fun. I will go to my polling place and vote in all the local and state elections and vote on ballot issues while leaving the presidential section of the ballot blank or scribbled out.
 
Small town, not much of a line. Have to get cattle feed on Monday, might just go ahead and vote then.

Yeah. I was in the supermarket and there was an early voting booth set up near the deli section. A volunteer noticed me looking and suggested I take advantage, so I did.
 
I voted by a mail in ballot, although it's not called an absentee ballot, I guess it's the same thing. I don't know why everyone doesn't do that!
 
I've voted absentee since they allowed anyone to do it, not just the disabled or elderly. I'll never go back. I don't have to stand in long lines in the cold or in the rain, I don't have to hurry because there's a bunch of people behind me grumbling, I vote at my leisure, I put it in the mail and I'm done.

Everyone should do it.
 
They have plenty of polling locations where I am at. I haven't voted at this one before, but I don't anticipate a long wait. I'd be ecstatic if there was a long line. I like to see people exercising their right to vote instead of not voting.
 
Yes, I voted early last week.
 
I vote on Election day. I enjoy doing it. Me and the wife will be going tomorrow morning after we drop the kids off at school. Both voting for Gary Johnson. Mother and Sister in Law already voted for Johnson.
 
Other than when I was in the service and stationed overseas, I have never voted absentee or early... until this year. Normally, I prefer to wait until election day. There's something about going down to the polls, on the day, and voting in person that makes me feel all warm-and-fuzzy inside.

This year my state opened early voting a month ago. I was down at the county building on unrelated business and went ahead and voted. I figured that since I knew I wouldn't be changing my mind on anything, I might as well.
