You also left off that Germans pay over 50% in income tax. Not to mention a 15% VAT on most purchases and other taxes along the way. From my experience in the Heinsberg/Geilenkirchen area, their medical system sucks ass and I wouldn't want it or send anyone I cared about to use it.
You also don't seem to realize that part of the reason their system works as well as it does in some areas is the personality/nature of the people involved in the system. Americans are not Germans, we don't think the same nor would we do as well under their system. Some of us might, others definitely wouldn't. The same BS that works there has failed other places due to the people involved. Places like Greece, Italy, Spain, etc.
From your description of your work history, you sound like the typical Liberal/progressive/socialist douchebag that made bad choices and decisions and now you want to punish those who didn't by taking away from them to give to you. What you describe would really only apply to the lowest level of skills/education (in other words you learned to tie your own shoes but not much else). That level of worker is easy to replace, doesn't deserve much more because labor is a competitive market and should be and will always be cheap and expendable. Why didn't you take education/training opportunities to improve you position in the job market? You made your choices, you live with them. So suck it up or go to hell, I really don't care which unless you try to take from me to give to you, then the Secound amendment comes into play and I intend to win.
