How could anyone except for a complete right-wing tool say that Romney won the debate? Romney endorse Obama last night...how is that possibly a "win" for Romney.Romney displayed his foreign policy ignorance last night, didn't even know that Iran is not Landlocked and believed that Iran shares a border with Syria....how possibly could that be a "win" for Romney?Doh!

So DD...who won the first debate? We'll use this as a hypocrite "litmus test" to let those of DP see who the extremist ideologue is. I'm sure there are some people left on this site who don't know that anyone to the right of Pelosi is unfair and imbalanced.

Romney looked relaxed and confident as he watched the man-child President progressively lose his cool.

This may have been my favorite of all three debates.

I must be watching different debates. Every time I turned around, regardless of which debate it was, I saw Romney absolutely monopolizing the argument while acting like all moderators were cheating him when trying to give Obama even time.

Apparently 80% of the topics were supposed to involve him talking for several minutes, Obama having a 30 second counter-argument, and then Romney getting a filibuster retort.

He made Obama sound incompetent in the first debate, but the times when Obama was composed and able to go point-counterpoint, Romney kept going and made himself seem like an outspoken bully.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama got about 40 seconds more talk time than Romney did, so Romney was right to want more time. Though it's hard to get something 90 minutes long evenly split for both candidates.

You must be watching different debates. Romney was pretty passive this debate, however he kept Obama in his place when he tried to interrupt. He agreed with Obama on many topics. Obama wanted to differentiate himself from Romney, and Romney refused him that strategy.

Maybe you're right. I pulled up an article from Time Magazine online.

By CNN’s clock, President Barack Obama spoke for more than three minutes longer than Mitt Romney. But it didn’t feel like he said more. In the first debate of the 2012 campaign, Romney was sharper, more animated, quicker. Two candidates were on stage, but only one seemed to be competing. Obama spent more time speaking but not more time talking. You could have held a whole other debate within the time he spent on “Aaaahs” and “Ummms” and thoughtful pauses.

He didn't agree with everything, but he agreed with a lot generally speaking. Apparently he accomplished his mission last night.

Apparently the Dems got more time in every debate.

Well, I admit that I didn't watch debates with a stopwatch, but it always felt like Romney was scrambling for the last word like he thought he was getting gypped on debate time.

I guess that's why we have the great truth engine we call the internet. I doubt anyone would say Time Magazine is a biased source.
