Your candidate LOSES - what do you do?

If your candidate loses this election - what will you do?

I've only voted for the winning party in 2 out of the 7 general elections I've voted in. On both of those occasions I've felt severely betrayed. So, if your man loses in November, buck up, it could be worse, he could have won!

Brilliant.

Not worried. It will be status quo whoever wins. It's not like there is a difference between them.

I mostly agree with this, Vauge. No doubt both Obama and Romney--first and foremost--serve those who have mostly contributed to their campaigns before "we the people." What I will say, though, is that one may do less damage than the other when it comes to their policies.

Live my life exactly as before and not really worry about it, other than being annoyed that my preferred policies to help the country are not going to be looked at. There is very little the government and president does that affects my life directly.

This is probably the most likely scenario. Nothing will change here at DP. The only thing that will change will be the threads about voting fraud.
As the ref would say, "Play on".

The hatred bedtween the two parties will only continue to escalate. Fortunately 99% of posters are just paper tigers.

Since I am not supporting either Obama or Romney, in all likelihood "my" candidate will lose. So...

I expect that if Obama wins, conservatives will go on pretending that they're smarter than everyone, possibly revive the birther stuff if they get really desperate. Liberals will go on being Obama-apologists, and blaming Bush.

I expect that if Romney wins, things will likely continue along the same path, with the difference being that conservatives make all sorts of excuses for him and blaming Obama for 4 years of his failure.

I would wait for the weekend and then go get ****faced drunk. Granted I would do that regardless of the election or not.

It's not my country as long as your economy doesn't sink again.

With the election quickly approaching and tensions running high this election season, I have to ask:

What will you do if your candidate for POTUS loses?

Will you continue on with a negative attitude, or will you 'buck up' and roll with it? In elections past, we've all heard how some threatened to leave the country - and then after the fact, most didn't. And, how long after the elected POTUS takes office, will you expect to see results if 'the other guy' wins?

*preparing poll options

Get working on a nuclear bunker

Since I've already voted for Gary Johnson, I knew going in that my candidate would lose. No wondering here.

As far as past elections, I have voted for winners and for losers, and I just move along regardless what happens.

What will you do if your candidate for POTUS loses?

DEMAND A RECOUNT!! Again and again, until they get it right! (Or until SCOTUS gets involved, like in Florida 2000) :lamo

First, I would get to the doctors office and make sure I am in good health, before my health insurance gets changed by my company to something that is cheaper with less coverage.

Second, I would accept the fact the I will owe on my taxes for at least 4 more years. Thankfully the IRS already deemed that I can't afford to pay off what I owe, so they won't come and take everything I own.

Third, I would owe some apologies to my conservative friends.

Fourth, I will sit back and watch Romney not make good on his promises and complain about it here like others who complain about Obama not making good on his promises.

I won't like it, but I'll continue like always. The only thing that could really affect me if Romney wins is if he gets rid of the Pell grant, which would really screw me. Hopefully that won't happen.

Romney will probably lose. It just means more of the same. Continue to become involved in the community, hope to someday split the ticket for the legislature here in order to get a Democrat inside, and more than likely (I'm open to Democratic Party options, mind you) look forward to voting for another Republican four years later.

What will you do if your candidate for POTUS looses
Wake up in the morning, P90X, shower, class, job, call the kids, raid MoP content, try new mudslide recipe, go to bed at a decent hour....rinse/repeat....

Buy more ammo and reloading supplies.

Actually, that will definitely happen either way but it's the quantities that will be different.

Continue on. Probablly make a significant contribution next time around as well.

I will organize a million bird owl protest divebombing of the whitehouse, proving that Owls United Gives A Hoot.

What else is there to do but go on with life as usual and hope for the best?

As a rule, my preferred candidate never wins, so it doesn't really have much effect on my life. I just continue to roll with the punches.

I don't have a dog in this race. Frankly, I'm not sure how much I even care who wins.

I agree with an earlier poster. I am morally certain of a Johnson landslide and I have stocked up approximately 250,000 ounces of gold* to prepare for the new America.
