You asked for opinions. It's reasonable that opinions would follow.

No. American values have changed over the course of our history, right along side the American people. Values are static only if they are held as a constant by the people who hold them, and this has not been the case in the United States.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

3.)No. American values have changed over the course of our history, right along side the American people. Values are static only if they are held as a constant by the people who hold them, and this has not been the case in the United States.
    1.) didnt think you would
2.) yes but again, if person push opinions as facts I will call them on it
3.) no disagree again thats why i put that part in there about voting, american values as pertaining to the OP would be the values of qualifying for president. Yes they may vary some and they may change but if you are against all the rights and freedoms we have and the constitution, well then you dont qualify

    You HAVE to be joking.

If not, then realize this - the Koran was written before America existed, thus unless the Muslims of that time had time travel...well.

my question is, if you felt the person was qualified by your standards to be president and he was a Muslim would you vote for him, and if not why?

my answer is OF COURSE YES, because if I thought he was qualified his religion doesn't matter.
Is this suppose to be a poll? If so where are the options?

All you people who think Muslims pose no threat to this country wake up amd look around....Look at all the other Muslim Nations that have Sharia Law. How many of them are really our friends?....You can count them on one hand and if we did not give them billions of dollars there would be even less. Even in countries like England and France where they have huge Muslim populations have problems......Like I said before Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. I believe right now we have 1 Muslim in Congress...That could change quickly. Please think about it.....It could happen.

The president and congress are not allowed to make laws based on religion, any religion. SO what you suggest would be impossible. Unless Congress and the Senate were invaded by radical Muslims (the majority are not radical Muslims) no problem would exist.

And no, it could not happen. That is just so paranoid and far out there. No reality at all.

PS Islam is not the fastest growing religion, Christianity still is. Muslims count births which often do not add up to another Muslim. More Muslims have converted to Christianity than the other way around as well.

According to a 2005 paper submitted to a meeting of the American Political Science Association, most of this growth has occurred in non-Western countries and concludes the Pentecostalism movement is the fastest growing religion worldwide. - Claims to be the fastest-growing religion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't want to know a candidate's religious persuasion it should be irrelevant to his function in his secular role.
