Your definition of slavery is based in your political ideology not in any way historical. Landowners, are not in anyway considered slaves. That cannot not in anyway to be considered extreme. Your definition, however, is.

There is no "landowners" in the us unless you get a special deed only available in Texas as I said, so that has no where to go. The rest of your comment is empty talk.

I got the nickname Shamrock for my sometimes incredible luck. So I incorporated it into my love of shoes along with "Walking On Sunshine".

Thanks. That expains that. Now, why is it women love shoes? I am compeled to ask every woman who says they love shoes because it is something that is foreign to me. I have a couple pairs of work boots and a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of deck shoes. I dont collect them. I am not much of a collector of anything really. So anywho what the skinny?:wassat1:

Wilson is practically the Godfather for modern bureaucratic structure and civil service. He wasn't just some idealistic schmuck that screwed over the Fourteen Points and made the hopelessly naive sentiments about the last Great war among men.

Not to rain on your parade or anything but if Wilson is the Godfather of modern bureaucratic structure then we DEFINATELY don't need more.

Ideally, I would want a mixture of both.

However, if I can't have that then I would pick the academics.
I agree re the mixture part...but why do you lean to the 'academics'? Joe Six Pack may not be an Ivy League academic, but he is far from being stupid AND he has proven that he can go out into the real world, build business (as opposed to academia 'talking about' businesses) run budgets, etc.

I agree a mixture of both is ideal....joesixpack will get it done, academia studies the best way to get it done....both are needed

LOL...what's not to understand? It's how they make us feel. A smashing pair of heels make an outfit. They help show us to our best advantage. :) And, they're pretty!

I wanna hang the bastards, how that being taken in? I vote libertarian or its equivalent.
Because you're anti-government instead of being against the agents of anti-government who took over Liberalism and purposely pervert government services. They may be sincere, but lying to themselves about the destructive impulses that really motivate them is the worst form of insincerity. The guppies don't have minds of their own; they are totally controlled by the feelings of class supremacy they were brought up to believe in.

Yeah, because I have better things to do with my time and am wrapping it up. I merely suggest you actually read the important works before you start spouting off nonsense and telling the entire historical community that they are full of it.
What if he reads them and disagrees with the points they make? That's the problem with academics; they make many errors in connecting dots. They only collect the dots. They assume that books have some magical power to make things self-evidently true. Using this false retort, I could say you shouldn't debate the merits of the Ivy League Ivory Tower until you've read Lucky Jim, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and I Am Charlotte Simmons. If the acadummies ran the government, they'd just say the people don't know how to read the truth and have to be ordered around by those who do know what to read.

The cartoon squaw's wishy-washy rap music makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and touchy-feely. I'm so choked up I think I'll go hug a tree and say I'm sorry for all the times my dog pissed on it.

They are pretty, check. I have admit good pare of heels does add a certian apeal to womans legs. I dont look good in heels, I have stubby hairy legs that are beyond redemtion I am afraid, that even the snaziest of heels couldnt help. Hense I wear boots. Your answer is right in line with what other women have told me. I find it facinating how women are attracted to shoes, one of lifes mysteries for me. Thank you being nice and answering my oddball off the wall question. :)

At first I thought you were saying, "I wasn't talking to you, butt pirate.":lamo

Not bad, Liberal, not too shaby at all if a little on the crude side. A little double meaning in there as well. Butt Pirate, thanks, Reaaaalllyyy.

The busy bodies that are sincer are definately the worst, they being the true believers of that more governnent being the most ardent in their beliefs.

I always liked how she reached into a tree and grabbed a bear cub right under the nose of its mother while singing about how ignorant the white man is. There is nothing ignorant about what she did there at all. :D

I can't compete with all the well-financed brainwashing that prevents you from realizing that modern Liberals are agents of the Right Wing. But let me put it this way in order to protect your Right Wing heroes from the charge of influencing their sons to take over the Democratic Party. To the Liberals, it's not a job; it's a position. They are satisfied with wallowing in the glory of power and not at all interested in doing the hard work of turning their agencies into effective public services. By definition, the Leisure Class is allergic to any kind of work.

This makes absolutely no sense at all. the left works for the right? Uhuh!

I didn't use to believe this, but I am becoming more and more convinced that the unrealistic wildlife the treehuggers saw in cartoons when children permanently sets their viewpoints even after they should have grown up. They think of the vicious and unproductive jungle as a petting zoo. Children should be shown movies like Apocalypto instead. But even in that movie, only the bad guys get exposed to what the "rainforest, habitat, pristine paradise " chaotic nightmare is really like.

Democracy by lot rather than ballot isn't a new concept I kinda like what we could do with it, in a bicameral system we could divide everyone up and represent them randomly in one house and keep the other elected.

For example it doeant have to be 100% random, but if 50% of our people are women then half our selections are women if 20% are seniors then we pick 20% out of our random pool of seniors etc.

The biggest problem is you have to sequester them like jurors on an important trial for thier entire term, and you cannot let them know too far in advance or they would be influenced by parties trying to get at them.

It isn't a perfect idea, but I think it could be made to work.

Politics is nothing but a food fight at a prep school. It doesn't make sense that only one faction of the guillotine-fodder aristocracy hates the rest of us. They only argue over which is the better method to whiz on the masses as they sit on top of the wall--trickling or spraying? They are not afraid of what happened to Humpty Dumpty.

And we must not forget to read "Ragged Dick".
Today Horatio Alger would advocate a hero who sucked his thumb in college, working without pay and living like a 12-year-old because he was afraid to grow up. A true criticism of his 19th Century heroes that you never hear is that all they did was work hard and conform, having talent being irrelevant to promotion. So we get people brown-nosing into positions where only talent matters and they inevitably wreck everything because of their natural insufficiency, which no hard work, aggressiveness, or attractive personality can change. No one is wise enough to point out that lack of natural talent makes cheating necessary. That drives the overpromoted brown-noses into it more than greed or dishonesty does. But the people at the very top, in a position to define what virtue is, got handed their positions by their Daddies and that's why they demand a society not based on natural talent, but based on birth and brown-nosing to birth rather than based on worth.

Tying this into the topic, the professors are the worst case of people developing in childish conditions. This made them look on their own professors as infallible father figures. When they themselves become professors, they childishly and slavishly followed the academic leaders. When they become top academics, they only follow fads. So what kind of leaders would we get from people who never matured and only when it was too late tried to learn to think for themselves? Their opinions when invading government are bound to be unrealistic, impractical, biased, and utopian, which disqualifies them from even being a small part of government.
