What type of ads effect you the most?

What type of adds affects you the most? What adds do you think are the most effective in public.

Well everyone says you need to run attack adds left and right. Thing is here in VA Tim Kaine runs 80% positive adds while George Allan runs 100% negative adds while bearly even mentioning himself. Yet Kaine's lead keeps growing. I personally think "negative adds are more effective" is a myth. It really depends on the validity and relevence of the add and the candidate.

A negative add thats spot on can be very effective, a negative add full of twisted facts and lies tend to backfire.

I personally also don't like random idividuals on adds especially when they don't talk about facts and specifics. Such as the Contraception add on Obama's side and the Small buisness add (with the lady and the bald old man) for Romney.

Ads rarely affect me because I change the channel whenever they come on, and on the rare occasion I see one, I'm predisposed to disbelieve everything it says. I do think negative ads are more effective, though. It's hard to raise your own favorability ratings, but it's not that hard to tear down your opponent's.

Some adds I find effective and true, but ya most of them are just Rhetoric and BS with irrelevent/misleading numbers.

Best thing to do is put in some time and look at their records on legislation and national statistics from factual sources.

One side says 300,000 Jobs lost every month another say 400,000 Jobs created every month. No one talks about net job gain/loss.

I may watch tv once a week and it's usually movies on Netflix, Amazon or Vudu.
    I don't think I've seen a political ad lately and I'm quite glad, they're obnoxious.....all of them.

Whenever I do see one, whether or not I support the person running it, my bull**** detectors bleeps and boops.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

If you let a ad dictate or influence who you are going to vote for then you are a ****en moron. Seeing how we have the internet you can practically thoroughly research any well known presidential candidate or other political candidate.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Ads are for the simple minded, who have no way to think freely.

I didnt answer because I dont know how?

for me personally no ads effect my voting, some inspire me to fact check things and make sure im informed but the ad itself doesnt do anything

in general im not sure either. the majority of people I know that talk about ads feel the same way I do, and then the small percentage of people that seem inspired by ads are typically biased people that were or were not going to vote a certain way anyway.

lastly id guess the uninformed people are effected by all the ads, i dont know

Re: What type of ads effect you the most?

the ads have little effect on my voting, as i do my own research and know who i'm voting for going into the election.

however, excessively negative ads can turn me off enough in certain races that i'd consider not voting for either candidate. the mind-numbingly negative and often false superpac ads really get on my nerves.

if i were running myself, i couldn't possibly do that, and i would probably demand that superpacs run no negative ads. this might very well result in my loss, but i couldn't stand to be associated with that kind of garbage.
