SImple poll. In the last several elections, polling of those members of the main stream media who covered the presidential election voted for Al Gore at over an 80% rate. It was about the same I believe for Kerry and a bit higher for Obama. So what causes this favoritism

I think people who seek the truth in general are more liberal in comparison to American conservatives. If you look at other countries and how they may have reacted, it wouldn't have been to the degree of unison that happened when we bombed Iraqi. If it were say, France there would have been super serious opposition. Can the profession make you more liberal, perhaps. So really I think many are seriously moderate starting out and could become more liberal depending on who controlled them.

I guess that is the partisan leftwing take on things

I find the GOP-at least on economic issues-to be more honest. Rich dems pretend to care about the poor but their policies are designed to keep people dependent on government and that means dependent on voting Dem.

I would say most reporters tend to be activist, and i expect that most activists who are not part of a religous org would more then likely be more liberal then the general population

(Before people get bent out of shape, reporters may be liberal, but i doubt their bosses are)

that has some merit. the surveys indicated that Gore garnered over 80% of the votes of those covering the 2000 election. I cannot recall the numbers for Kerry and Obama but it was similar-perhaps higher for Obama.

Only if your definition of MORE HONEST is coming right out and saying you do not care about the other half and want to demonize them for your own partisan purposes.

that has nothing to do with what I said. The fact is uber wealthy dems pretend to care about the poor when in reality their wealth comes from being in office and being in office is dependent on keeping people addicted to government and voting for those who will keep the handouts flowing

It has everything to do with you saying the GOP was more honest on economic issues. But only if you define HONEST as not caring about the other half of the people who you demonize to try and win elections.

GOP policies are not designed to keep people in poverty. the GOP economic policies are not contrary to what they claim they intend to do

Are we exchanging bad jokes now? Did you hear the one about the two ladies buying gas before the snowstorm?

are you trying to derail my thread? the issue involves why did 80% or more of those covering the presidential elections vote Democrat

YOu did it to yourself with your own statements. I merely commented on them.

I notice you haven't voted yet. Have you an opinion on this issue?

I did not see an option worth voting for.

The poll itself seemed seriously flawed and rather poorly thought out.

then feel free to post an explanation that meets with your sense of value

WHY bother? The OP is seriously flawed as it provides no verifiable evidence for the premise. It fails right out of the gate.

are you denying that polls of those covering the presidential elections strongly favored dem candidates?

I would be more than happy to examine your verifiable evidence about the 2012 election if and when you ever do present it. Until then, you got nothing.

Because people sense a turning point with the re-election of Obama. It's a referendum on the GOP economics policies of the last 30 years. Do we like where those policies have led us or do we want a change.? I have to admit the R's are finally making themselves clear on their policies and that has made things alot easier for Obama.
I see a long line of Democrats in the Whitehouse and a healthy economy safe from banker tomfoolery and corporate welfare.

since the election has not happened we do not know how the votes will come down but people who voted for Gore, Kerry and Obama 2008 are pretty likely to also vote again for Obama. They certainly favored Obama in 2008

wishful thinking on your part. a long line of democrats would flush this country down the toilet but then again, I suspect that is what you want

Thank you for admitting that the premise of your poll about the 2012 election is seriously flawed.

I have yet to hear any reporter come out and say "My vote for Obama in 2008" was a mistake

Should always add an other option. I think it's also because the Republicans are boring and wrong.

Perhaps they believe that voting for McCain would have been a bigger mistake
