You'll have to remind me, because I really don't remember which elected official claimed that Obama "pals around with terrorists", although I'm sure whoever it was was referring to Bill Ayers who was a domestic terrorist. So obviously the difference there would be that Harry Reid actually lied.

As far as swiftboating Kerry, what you had was veterans who served with him in Vietnam who, honest or not, didn't like being accused of raping and murdering the vietnamese. But none of them were elected officials.

It was Sarah Palin. And she was correct.

Harry should have been forced to resign after he said "the war is lost". If that isn't grounds for removal nothing is.

This has now been debunked. So the question is, if a United States senator lies about another American's income tax filings in an attempt to smear them, should that trusted member of civilized government be forced to resign?
Just so you know Mitt Romney released a single year of tax return. Not the 10 years being asked for. I don't care either way but to claim that year = years does nothing to disprove Reid's claim.

no, he shouldn't resign... that's absurd.

let the voters of Nevada decide when they have had enough of him...( he'll retire before they boot him, but still, it's their responsibility)

    he's released 2 years of taxes.. 2010 and 2011.

    just sayin'

if I were Mitt, I wouldn't release any more ta documents.... it's completely obvious these tax returns are part and parcel of a smear campaign and not some sort of valid vetting mechanism.
the latest Democratic tactic is to castigate Mitt for paying too much in taxes... after spending all this time saying he hasn't paid enough or paid nothing.
this is not a sincere effort to vet a candidate.

So he's released 20% of what is being asked for. Still doesn't disprove Reid's claim.

Reid's words... "But Mitt Romney can't do that because he's basically paid no taxes in the prior 12 years."

I don't believe paying $6.2 million in taxes can be accurately described as " basically paid no taxes"... you?
