DP made me do a lot of research and I've learned a lot though my position stays the same I'm more confident than ever supporting Obama over Romney.

I don't think a person is evil or morally inferior to me just because he disagrees with me, digsbe. Sometimes, we want the same things but disagree about the best way to get them. Sometimes we don't share the same values of worldview -- but I have no doubt, most people tried just as hard as I did to arrive at their moral POVs.

I'll tolerate almost any disagreement except one based on bigotry.

I've posted on differing political boards over the years. My views have not changed due to anything I've read or discussed at any of them. I do like to get others' opinions and I consider what they are saying. However, I've always been a fiscally conservative, socially liberal person. I changed my political affiliation a few years ago to Libertarian because that seemed to support my political stances the best. I don't agree with all of their platform - however - I disagreed with the GOP more and more as the years passed and while I may or may not vote Libertarian (third parties in this country unfortunately do not yet have a real shot at big office appointment until the system as we know it is over hauled), but I align myself with them.

Just a few days ago I had someone convince me to stop hating GW Bush and remember that he did some good things too. They presented their case politely and intelligently and it influenced me. Not the first time either but this was kind of a big one.

I've learned a lot from postings [well sourced] on political forums. So many times it sparked a curiosity to explore subjects I wouldn't have ordinarily. All that extra data, and some reasonable folks, has evolved my opinions over the years. I'll always think Ike was the best President ever, but I'm willing to explore changing my mind on all the others.

My positions haven't changed so much as been refined. The spirit of my views haven't changed much, but when I joined many of them were vague and unspecific. I think, now, I have a good handle on what I believe and can back it up.

The lean has been changed, the views have not. Centrist was an initial method of not offending anyone and after realizing that nobody cared, I switched around trying to find one that best represented my views - as there is no Anarchist leaning on this site.

For me it would be the 2nd Amendment. Believe it or not, I'm a much bigger proponent of the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms than I was before.
I would say no. But I have been exposed to many arguments I like, on both sides, which have caused my own views to become more informed and nuanced. I may have caveats to many of my views where once they were a little more black and white.

So there's no difference between Libertarian-Left, Communist, and Anarchist?

In the sense that I use them, there isn't. I'm an Anarchocommunist so those three labels can also be representative my views.

Side note: Ikari claims to be a Left Libertarian, but in actuality, he's a moderate free market libertarian.
