Sure...it will be a Charlie Sheen kind of 'winning'...but who cares right? Maybe they will dump another 10 trillion on your grandkids before they are through and toss you a few crumbs.

You have to deal with it. I am just a spectator here who likes to read about current affairs and contribute my 2 cents worth.

Welcome to the new Cold War.

NATO has to justify their paychecks somehow after all.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Funny...a party as comfortable using the filibuster might be seen as hypocritical bitching about it...

01:43:15 AND SO, YES, WE ARE BLOCKING JUDGES BY FILIBUSTER.
01:43:17 THAT'S PART OF THE HALLOWED PROCESS AROUND HERE OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS SAYING THE SENATE IS THE COOLING SAUCER.
01:43:23 WE HAVE -- WE DON'T WORK AS QUICKLY AS THE HOUSE AND WE ARE NOT AS RESTRICTED AS THE HOUSE.
01:43:29 THAT'S HOW IT WAS INTENDED TO BE.

Senate Session - C-SPAN Video Library

Now...of course...when it is democrats engaging in the process it is sound legislative practice and when republicans do it it is just obstructionism. But lets be blunt and very honest. What you are truly saying is that Bush...who never had a filibuster proof majority and for much of his presidency actually had democrat majorities in the house and senate...was a better president and leader than Obama. Bush was more effective at negotiating and working with the other side than is Obama. How sad!

Excuses are like assholes...everyone has them and they all stink. Nothing is ever Obamas fault.

Yet they DID manage to pass Obamacare...right? Oh...sure...no one bothered to READ what they were voting for and no one STILL knows exactly how it will all look or cost once it goes into effect. And that spending legislation...hows THAT going? Jobs are just BOOMING, right? Well...no...most of that money went to 'save' union jobs in states where the legislators couldnt bother to pass effective budgeting measures and still havent. Green spending...now THAT was effective...oh...wait...all those campaign contributors are closing up shop, going bankrupt, and sending whatever remaining jobs there are out of the country. Ya know...if Obama would just pass MORE of that innovative 'new' legislative thinking...tax and spend...wow...who could have POSSIBLY guessed that is what 'hope and change' meant.

    Ah...my favorite yapper.

Sticking to a 2014 withdrawal doesnt exactly amount to a plan while you are still in country and people are dying. Sure...like he stuck to the Bush negotiated 2011 Iraq withdrawal and claimed 'victory' he can just wait til 2014 and arbitrarily decide to pull out. And what happens between now and then? To wait end do we fight? Soldiers are dying today. They are being killed by people they are 'training'. Where is 'the war'? ANd since it is so important that we stay til 2014...6 years after he was elected...what are we supposed to accomplish? Where are the daily mission briefs? I personally DO get daily briefs. I get daily Survivor Outreach briefs to be able to know which of our Soldiers families we have to contact. I get daily briefings on suicide statistics and have since 2009. As one that coordinates SOS services (and as a father of two servicemen) It would be nice to be able to say "This is what your son or daughter died for". Bush was guilty of failings in the post war environment. Obama is as well.
