Is Obama a Socialist or a Communist?

Which is he

Actually, the real difference is the letters in parentheses. George Bush (R), Barack Obama (D).

Christ, instead of all sorts of mental twists that somehow it's better, why not just admit that you are a rabid partisan who finds anything Bush did better than anything Obama could possibly do?
You've got it all wrong, rocket. Bush was no favorite of mine. Hell, I wanted Alan Keyes to be my president, and he made Bush look like a Left Wing nut.

No, the real issue is that you can't accept the fact that Barack Obama is weaker than George Bush was when he was president.

He is definitely Communists (yes he is multiple persons) because he saved a corporation which not only saved millions of jobs, but also upheld capitalistic competition. He also mandated we buy a service from a company of our choice just like auto insurance. Also he wants to raise taxes on rich people like the other Communist presidents did (like Reagan and Clinton). Lastly, and the most despicably, he doesn't allow oil drilling in protected lands which is obviously raising our gas prices even though oil production is rising. The only reason why he did that, and I use reason loosely, is to keep the oil companies from becoming wealthier because he figured if he couldn't take it away, he may as well cap it. Sound reasoning and I dare you to question it.

Note: I am obviously being higly sarcastic. Obama has done nothing that hints of being a Socialist. He may borrow ideas from somewhat Socialist policies but he is not a Socialist

Well in Canada we used to have the Progressive Conservatives before they merged with the Reform party to form the Conservatives but on a provincial level they are still called PCs. A Progressive Conservative usually has Conservative economic policy with Liberal social policy. Obama fits in here which on the political spectrum in just right of centre, whereas the Republicans are closer to far right.
There's nothing conservative about Hussein's approach to the economy.

1. Who the hell refers to someone by their middle name?
2. How are his policies Marxist or Socialist?

I refuse to vote in this poll on the basis that "Islamist Nazi" is not a choice!

No no no. You have it all wrong! He was born in Pakistan where he studied Sharia law (most likely misspelled but oh well). After that, he studied Marx and Carnegie. Later, he read many of Stalin's and Lenin's works. The correct title for him is (deep breath) NeofascistIslamistStalinisticDoucheBagCommunist. Undoubtedly

How so? Taxing the upper class to pay for all of the nation's debt is hardly redistributing the wealth

A great portion of that debt has been amassed through the payout of entitlements to those who are not in the upper class.

Even single payer is not socialist as healthcare and medical services is private. Different topic though ...

The United States is a mixed economy and Obama governs for a mixed economy and balance. Was Clinton socialist or Reagan? Was Bush socialist?

Foolish poll. Clearly you did not want the truth.

Technically, if Romney wins, a lot of people will be referring to the President using his middle name.

But in general with Obama, it's just a ploy to play on xenophobia.

1. I do because I don't like this person and his middle name is the same as Saddam's last name. I also like making that connection being that they're both Muslims.
2. I said Obama's thinking is in line with Marxist thinking. One example is his support for the Occupy Movement -- an overt example of rabid Marxist types trying to topple Capitalism.

Please tell me how he is Muslim? Then also by your logic since I oppose the occupy movement I must be Conservative.

Xenophobia at its finest.

Obama's endorsement of the nascent Occupy Movement was one of abject political miscalculation, thinking he found the liberal populist solution to The Tea Party. Its ideas were still more scatter-brained than they later became. Its violent temperament still was unclear. Then as both of those started to unravel, the administration quickly distanced itself from it, even if the liberals in the media did not.

There should have been additional choices of:

C. Facist
D. All of the above

Given that most of the fight is between rural and urban centers, how would you propose splitting the country in a way where land is contiguous among the different cultures?

Im not. We would have to figure it out. I personally, would be happy to move somewhere if that meant living in a society that actually reflects my desire for freedom. Thats why I live in florida and not california. People would have to choose whether to stay where they are and accept the new rules of freedom (or facism if you live in the liberal country) or move.

How is he anti-capitalism? Has he rid of competitive markets, capital accumulation, and wage labor?

Not completely, but take the energy market for example. He favors subsidizing some products, and taxing/restricting others, and monopolizing others. That in effect gets rid of competition. His policies for redistribution of wealth get rid of capital accumulation. His support for welfare, unemployment compensation and minimum wages, not to mention tons of other regulations on wage labor mess with wage labor. You simply cant call this pro-capitalism.

I've seen Nip/Tuck and Facism is much worse in Florida than California.

Is the message getting through yet? Try switching on the spell check.

Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to
exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher
portions of property in geometric progression as they rise”

People tend to ignore the parts about their heros they dislike.

He had slaves too. No one is calling the founders gods.

and I can assure you that many of us who remain would be equally happy with such a decision.
