Is Obama a Socialist or a Communist?

Which is he

He's a social democrat. I.e. in the United States, an extreme left-winger. A socialist. I don't believe he wants to abolish private property... we just know he doesn't respect it.

This only because the average person in the US has no idea what a socialist actually is and can't tell the difference.

Social democrats are socialists.

How many times do you have to hear a politician say he is his brother's keeper and advocate spreading wealth around and establishing soak the rich taxation schemes for you to realize that someone advocates the philosophy that describes all of those things.

Socialism is a very specific policy markedly different from a social democratic stance which espouses modified capitalism but still promotes capitalism.

He did win the first election didn't he? So shouldn't he be allowed to at least put forward his agenda? I mean when Bush was in there, he ran things far more like a dictator than Obama has.

When you win an election you get to run things the way you see fit. The people put you in there for a reason, not to pander to the other side and ask them like a big softy "what do you think we should do"

First of all, I won't stoop to your level by talking about Bush. He's not the topic of this thread.

Now. While Obama did win his first election, that doesn't mean I now have to agree with him. It doesn't mean I don't do what I can to boot him out in the next election. And, it surely doesn't mean I have to now like his agenda.

So...what's your point?

Obama's act of signing the Affordable Care Act was an act of crony Capitalism, not Socialism or Communism.

Fining citizens if they don't buy a product from a private company, is a purely Capitalist act and perhaps the largest one ever committed in our history. Thirty million Americans spending $10,000 or more a year on insurance means a $300 billion every year to the health insurance companies. Surely this was as Capitalist an act as they come.
There is far more too it. This is intended to drive most insurance companies out of the insurance business. Think of it as the first step toward nationalizing one-sixth of the US economy.
When politicians control your health care they have you. "When you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow." If you've got them by the balls...

Grades 1 through 4. Yes. Those were the beginnings of his formative years.

Four years in a country isn't enough to mold you into who you are, especially not at that age.

He is a foreigner in many ways. He is anti capitalism. That is foreign.

Anti-Capitalism, how? Has he rid of competitive markets, capital accumulation, and wage labor?

He is anti-individualism. That is foreign.

Again, how? What has he done that makes him anti-Individualist?

He is damaging the US. For a president that too, is foreign.

Again, how? Elaborate, you're just saying things without providing any proof.

Wow! Someone here is ripe for the picking.
We, like the Former Soviet Union, have a written Constitution. I am sorry we decided to stop using it.

The one term Marxist flexible president Barrack Hussein Obama heads the Executive branch of the Federal government. He is a steward. He does not own us nor does he own the US. We are not his. He works for us.

And he needs to be sent along to play with the Great Prevaricator, the impeached president, BJ "Slick Willie" Clinton.

Marxist/Collectivist would be a more appropriate label

some facts, lots of assumptions/conclusions based on opinion, and some more opinion.
Like I said the conspiracy forum is lower on the home page :)
say what ever you want, I read all this stuff and tons more like it, i dont share your assumptions and opinions based off of some of the facts above, not going to change that either because thats all it is, lots of your opinion based off of some facts.
To be clear you are not refuting the statements 1, 2, and 3 above. You just don't like where they lead you.

What does being a capitalist have to do with my comment? I was talking about whether he's a conservative or not.

Way to snip a small part of my comment to make your case, dude.

Well, from the point of view of a socialist or communist, the two terms are intimately related. All capitalists are conservative because they seek to conserve inequality, exploitation and injustice. Of course there are different flavours of capitalist and of conservative, but neither Obama nor his right-wing opponents can claim that he is anything other than a capitalist, and hence a conservative too. He clearly wishes to retain and preserve traditional institutions such as the clearly corrupted and unrepresentative system of 'liberal democracy'. He also wishes to ensure that social change proceed along very incremental, gradualist lines. He has neither attempted nor even advocated anything remotely radical or revolutionary during his political career.

Tell you what Obama is...

I dont have to refute them because they dont need refuted LOL

I just factually identified them, they dont lead "me" anywhere, you are describing where they lead "you" and thats my point

your conclusions based off of your opinion are meaningless to me
you are free to have them but thats it, the conclusions you draw form them arent facts

Im ok with that, for some reason you seem not to be ok with that, you want it to ALL be accepted as fact, but its not

That is it for me. I am leaving for a while. One of the mods has taken a liking to me and I cannot shake him. Just look for all the places I have been thread banned and you will understand.

I will be back in a few weeks.

What happened to detain you?

No. But spending one's formative years in an Islamic environment with a Socialist father and mother certainly influences one's path.

Anti-Capitalism, how? Has he rid of competitive markets, capital accumulation, and wage labor?
Are you playing with me or are you serious?

Again, how? What has he done that makes him anti-Individualist?
A recent piece of evidence is his truthful moment when he said, If you've got a business, you didn't build that.

Poor delayed gratification skills most likely. Its a problem shared by most political hacks on this site.

I'm sure he's not a Communist. Socialist? I don't know...if allowed to run amok, maybe. I don't think he embraces capitalism...he's somewhere in between, I'd guess. 'Course so are most Democrats, so maybe that shouldn't be a yardstick I use.

I don't understand how you can say that Obama doesn't embrace capitalism.

Good question. I assume the same mod who has punished me will continue. So I thought I would enjoy one more day before he gives me another infraction. As that will no doubt keep me from posting I thought I would go ahead and post until the moment he boots me. :)

Then I will enjoy my week away, fond some other board to post on and return in a week or so. I could not see a way to delete the post you referenced.

Great. We have agreement on items one, two, and three. It is a start.

nice try but you just further proved my point, you assume based on your opinion and you think its factual when its not :D
funny that you thought that would work when dealing with honest objective posters lol

Frankly, Jet, I don't even know anymore myself. I am so confused about this election cycle, I'm fuddled. I'm starting to question every thought I've ever had about both of these guys, frankly.

Are you saying you believe the one term Marxist flexible president Barrack Hussein Obama lied to us in his ghost-written books?
