And PA is giving free IDs to people who say they can't afford them. I don't see any problem with requiring ID to vote. In fact, when I was 18 and went to vote for the first time, I was amazed that they didn't require ID.

The point being, it's a national identification number that refers to you and only you. You've already got one. What's the big deal if you have another one?

    It doesn't.

Against. There's no reason for it. The significance of voter fraud is a Republican boogieman.

It has to be a photo ID, so no, no SS card. Driver's license, passport, etc., those are valid.

And why are you against it if the SS card is invalid? They're giving free photo IDs to people who claim they can't afford it, so what's the problem? There is no excuse for anyone not to have a photo ID.

It doesn't because it's just a piece of paper with a number on it. I could print them off by the millions on my printer. There is no means of identification on that card. To be identification, you'd have to have at least a picture, perhaps more biometric information.

There's no reason not to have it, it's something we should have always had in this country. Voter discrimination is a Democratic boogieman.

I don't believe that the qualifications of voting should be anymore restricted that they already are unless their is a demonstrably significant problem that can be fixed with a new restriction. Nobody has offered evidence that voter fraud is a demonstrably significant problem because it isn't one. Therefore, there is a reason, according to my standard of judgement, for not having it.

Voter discrimination is a Democratic boogieman.
