NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- More than one in seven Americans are on food stamps, but the federal government wants even more people to sign up for the safety net program.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been running radio ads for the past four months encouraging those eligible to enroll. The campaign is targeted at the elderly, working poor, the unemployed and Hispanics.

The department is spending between $2.5 million and $3 million on paid spots, and free public service announcements are also airing. The campaign can be heard in California, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and the New York metro area.
Yes, it is racist. It's racist, because most uninformed people think it's black who use food stamp the most. Whether they are or not it makes no difference. What's wrong with a government agency running ads to encourage those eligible for a government program to apply to it?
Have you ever stopped to think that people have stereotypes about other groups of people? It's called racism and it's ugly.Whose perception? You assume that those "uninformed" people see blacks as a monolithic group... Have you ever stopped to think that most people see individuals and not groups?

Personally I do not think it is racist.
It is not accurate to reference him as the Food Stamp POTUS anymore than any other POTUS since the program was created.
About the same number of people joined the program during the Bush and Obama administrations. In 2008 under Bush when the economic went into a downward spiral more people became eligible.

Calling Obama the Food stamp President I don`t believe is nessecarily racist...
It`s just incredibly stupid.
Welfare has skyrocketed under obama, through the roof.

Do you think that`s because of Obama.
Or perhaps the greatest economic collapse since the great depression, combined with a credit freeze and a populace unwilling to spend money for fear of the next round of collapse has anything to do with a slowing economy that left so many people without work and so have to use welfare to survive...
No of course not it`s just because he was elected...
And Turtledude, as a lawyer you should be ashamed of yourself for liking that post. After all isn`t it one of the most basic fallacies one can commit.
post hoc ergo propter hoc
Yes I do think it is because of obama, every one of his policies and actions have done nothing but keep this economy from recovering. From his 4 trillion more in debt to his anti energy stance to his pro union anto corp agenda added to the fact he wasted half his term ramming obama care down our throats as the economy went over a cliff. Any other questions?
Yeah there are so much better descriptions
1) the unemployment president
2) the 6 Trillion dollar Man
