If I thought she was the best candidate for the job, sure, I'd vote for a woman.

I pity the husband of the first female American president though. You gotta be seriously comfortable with your sexuality not to feel emasculated beyond belief. I couldn't handle it.

I'd vote for anyone as long as they represent me and my beliefs, regardless of Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion, or Race.

I realize that's pretty much a lost cause at this point. Only time will correct those wrongs.

Would you vote for a woman if she was going to strike down women's access to the political process?
No woman running for office can hold my views. They cannot be a politician and hold my views. It would be oxymoronic.

I'm asking a rhetorical question; a situation that exists in a fictional universe.

Would you be more like or less likely to vote for your candidate because she's a woman?

My views: I would be very excited to see a woman who held my views run for president or even vice president. I would be excited to see someone whose views match my own running for office, but her being a woman would be the cherry on top. I would not go so far as to vote for any average woman just because she's a woman, because I feel the first female president is going to be held to higher standards and have her every move scrutinized by her critics. A sub par female president would only set us back.

I dispute that. There are many female Senators, Representatives and even Governors. We've had women run for VP, a heartbeat from the Presidency. My own state, South Carolina is one of the most traditionally-minded of conservative states but we have a woman Governor at this time.

I think this is overstated by a long shot. Yes there are fewer women in politics than men... perhaps this has more to do with fewer women being interested in a political career and willing to do what has to be done to achieve high office, than any discrimination on the part of US voters. Considering that, last time I checked, women can and do vote...

If my wife was leader of the free world? Uh, yeah. I know me enough to know that I'd develop a massive inferiority complex and my turtle would go back into the shell big-time.

Plus, you couldn't exactly cheat on her. Secret Service would follow you everywhere.

Why not? Im a huge fan of letting women get on top. There are things that are very rewarding about that position...able to support...uphold...encourage...

So, if she has no kids, or they're grown up, there wouldn't be a problem?
    No problem at all.
