That's why I'm starting the Atheist Church. We believe in a non-deity higher power, compromised of all conscious and subconscious entities animate and inanimate. We also believe in the spirit or soul as ones influence in this world that goes on without the body. We don't believe in consciousness after death. We study the Bible, fear god (note the lower-case) and praise Jesus.

There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I would like to add Plato to the fire as well (we're burning books, right?). Another guy who invented a political ideology to sell a story. Delusional and narcissistic.

Plato was delusional and narcissistic? Ok, I gotta hear that one. Tell me how. There were no people or shadows, he made all that up?

Because allot of them convert. Sort of like no atheists in a foxhole. Same thing.

    Of course you knew this.

Never -- I've never lived in an area where Christians were in enough numbers to enforce religious-based, restrictive legislation (not so that I'd notice, at least). I do know one atheist who currently lives in such a town in the South, and yeah, he's definitely a lot more active and vocal. Hooooeeeeee, he really gets into it with them. If I were in his situation I'd get the hell out of there if I could, but that's just me. I guess he's got a house or something and picking up and moving isn't so easy.

Yeah. Remember that time before Christ when stealing, rape and murder were perfectly legal? Those must have been four thousand extremely long crappy years. Or awesome years. It depends on whether you're on the business end or not, I guess.
