Libertarians: Will you vote for Gary Johnson or write-in Ron Paul?

The title question speaks for itself.

I create this thread in the hopes that I can shift some of the passion of the Ron Paul movement toward the Johnson campaign

Those who consider themselves libertarians should stand by Gary Johnson and help get him into the presidential debates!

Do not write-in Ron Paul...stand by the libertarian candidate. In terms of policies and ideas, he's far more advanced than Paul. Johnson doesn't possess that pesky conservative streak and is far more along in the fight for individual liberty.

I'll stop there, knowing this thread (as many others) will grow to be many pages. :-)

I already decided to vote for Gary Johnson a while back.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

A third party candidate does not stand a realistic chance against Romney or Obama. They would never raise even 1/4 of the contributions each of the major parties get. No money = no chance. It is sad, but that is politics in the US. Basically if you vote for a third party you are throwing a vote away. That is fine if you want to stand up and vote for principle, but if you really want Obama out of office, or you really do not want Romney elected, voting third party is the same as voting for the person you oppose. Im not asking you to change your mind, but lets add to the responses telling us why you would vote for a third party in this election.

I've addressed this in other threads. I believe it is shallow to vote for a candidate simply because he has the best shot at winning. I refuse to compromise my values or my integrity just to keep the status quo going. Gary Johnson stands for serious change. Change that is needed in this country, in terms of entitlement reform, defense spending, the war on drugs, civil liberties, and many other issues.

I shouldn't have to justify voting for a third party just because the status quo is the easy way to go. We deserve a fresh new perspective, not one tied to the same old tricks from the big political machines.

I disagree. Paul is much smarter and has much more depth that Johnson. Johnson is just a better talker.

I'm not allowed to vote yet so I picked other. If I was allowed to vote this year I would write-in Ron Paul.

My vote is definitely going to Gary Johnson. I hope the libertarians start to get noticed a little more.

    Johnson.

Someone should help him with his website though. Looks like crap. Pretty unprofessional. Just kind of wears on the sense of credibility. You could probably spend a few thousand dollars and have a beautifully designed site. Lots of web designing talent out there. Employ some of it and fix your site, Gary. Effin' A.

Because there is very little difference between Obama and Romney. Why would I vote for a candidate I cannot support and who does not share my political platform?
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

I would write-in Ron Paul, but considering that his write-in votes won't be counted unless Paul spends the money to qualify (which he won't), I'm voting for Johnson. A write-in vote is one that will be literally thrown away - what's the point?
