I just found it very telling that there wasn't a single person of color in any of the photos. I was making a commentary on how the GOP of today is comprised almost entirely of white folk. This doesn't mean that they are racist....something that a couple of knee-jerk reactionairies immediately jumped on. Its saying that the GOP agenda is so extreme these days that they have alienated pretty much...all persons of color from their party.

The "traditional" family values platform is something is is widely embraced by the GOP.

No, you pointed out numerous times that there are "no people of color", which is clearly an insinuation of racism, then you claimed it was about the GOP being extremist after you got called on it, and after that tactic failed, you're just stamping your foot and saying we're over sensitive martyrs. Get over yourself.

Whatever....you guys are seeing racism where no racism was implied. Get over it. This isn't about racism...it is about extremism. Stop being such a martyr.

Okay...... Because Black folks didn't decide to show themselves on limited camera shots at the Chick-Fil-A... that means something?

And.... that somehow equates into what the GOP stands for?

These are individuals........ These are individuals going to eat at a fast food place....... None of the conclusions you are drawing have any justification.

But you are correct and I am not claiming anything other than the fact that I am calling them extremists. And I don't believe for a second that most of them there were to protest rights under the first amendment. Take a look at the interviews done by the media. The overwhelming majority of the people there said they were there to stand up for "Traditional" family values....so don't kid yourself into believing that they were there for a greater cause.

Also, I will loudly admit that I am extremely partisan...I have never tried to pretend otherwise. I don't come on to sites like this and try to pretend to be centrist....because I am not. I believe in being open about who you are so that people know who they are talking to when addressing/debating an issue. But being "partisan" doesn't mean that I am incorrect. You try to claim that the CFA day was not born and bred in right-wing media...I beg to differ. This is exactly where the event was publicized and where the drive was to get people out.

The bottom line is that the GOP has moved so far to the right that they have alienated huge groups of people with their extremist views. Ronald Reagan wouldn't be able to make it through a GOP primary today let alone the father of conservatism, Barry Goldwater.

The pictures speak more than words and are what they are. They were taken from a right-wing site...not a liberal blog trying to make people look bad.
What the hell do you mean by "you at least 1/2-way conceded the 'I'm calling them racist' bit"? Is that another fabrication supported by some studies? You have insinuated that they were racist, fat, and listeners of talk radio. You have insinuated that they were many things in addition to being "extremists."

Ha, do you have any idea what an extremist is, dd? You ought to, but that's doubtful. See, an extremist is a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, esp. one who resorts to or advocates extreme action. Are you actually going to say that those Traditional/socially-conservative Christians who chose to, GASP, eat at Chick-fil-A in support of Dan Cathy's freedom of speech are fanatical extremists who resort to/advocate extreme violence. Wait a minute. Are you actually meaning the OWS?

You don't even know what an extremist is. Now that we know this, and that we also know much of your arguments hinges on calling people extremists, your argument crumbles, because it was never solid to begin with. Your cognitive dissonance stems from thinking that these people can either support Cathy's right to free speech, or support traditional values. Really, dd? Are just just making jokes to placate the rest of us?

If you truly believed in being open and honest, you wouldn't bull**** about how fat, white, racist and stupid they are and then pretend you don't really mean it. No, when someone is hardline partisan more often than not they are not truly correct, or logical. You disagree? Show us a hardcore partisan that's "correct."

Your whole argument reeks of partisan hackery. Don't take pictures of some people and then try to paint the whole groups based on what's in the picture. How about I take a snapshot of Michael Moore. Hey, he's fat, white, uneducated, and vitriolic! Huh, all liberals must be like that. But WAIT, I'm not calling him fat/white/uneducated. I'm just "describing him," *hint hint*

So...... you are extreme unless you can find a black person to agree with you?

THAT is an extreme method of thinking if have ever heard it.

It seems to imply that black people are always right..... and if they aren't involved, then someone must be wrong.

It's all there in black and white for all to see. Since you can't man up to what you wrote, good day.

It just is very telling that in all of the photos...taken at numerous locations, there isn't a single person of color. I don't need the photos to show what the GOP "stands for"....they have made it abundantly clear in their party platform and there embracing of the "Traditional" family values line. Look at how many Republicans have ran under that banner.

And...Caine....these are not just individuals "going to eat at a fast food place". A person that went to CFA on this date, solely to eat and not make a political statement, would have looked at the lines and went elsewhere (CFA's food is not so good that people would wait in a line like that). No....these people were there to make a political statement...which is their right to do and I support their right to make whatever statement they want, whether I agree with it or not.....

Is it just mere chance that not a single person of color appears in any of the photos for an event that was by and large created and promoted by right-wing media? I would say no.

Most, if not the vast majority of right-wing media listeners are Republican voters. I think its pretty safe to say that the GOP and right-wing media do not appeal to people of color...which is why there are none in any of the photos. That's not racism. I've never said nor do I believe that the GOP drove out people of color because they are racist....its their extreme views that have driven them away.
