Ultimately, no. Religion is a personal matter for everyone and should be respected as such.

Only if it's Scientology, otherwise not so much.

Of course not. All these politicians claim they "believe in god" and they attach themselves to some religion or another in order to backup that claim. But "believe ingod"? C'mon. Almost NOBODY believes in god. Sure, lots of people are programmed to say it, hell, even fight for it. But if any of them "belied in god" the world would be all rainbows and unicorns.

And for the most part, that's a good thing. "Believing in god" is really silly. At least the god that earthlings perpetuate. Burning bushes, virgin births, multi-virgins? As far as I can tell, "true belie" is a mental disorder and I don't think trying to run something and seeing angels is a very good idea.

So, yeah, Obusha "believes in god and is a christian". What he really is is a politician.

All religions are just as stupid and irrational as Scientology.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

That may be, but I feel that Scientology is the most egregious of the lot. If you're a Scientologist, you either know the whole thing is a scam or you are retarded. Either way, not someone I want in office.

It's just the newest brand of religious stupidity, it's no better or worse than any other religion out there. If you can believe in an imaginary friend in the sky who desperately cares about your sex life, you can believe in Xenu nuking alien souls. Stupidity is stupidity, no matter which way it leans. Honestly, I don't want *ANY* of them in office.

It's hard for me to vote on this one. How important his religion is to me depends depends on how important it is to the president. If the president is a zealot, and likely to base most/all decisions on his religious views, then that would be a very important factor in whether I would vote for him. If the president is just putting on a show to get elected and really isn't a believer, and isn't likely to base decisions on whatever faith he professes, then I couldn't really care less either.

Not in the least, in fact I feel that religion is most often wielded about as a political tool by candidates who happen to be particularly impotent in the realm of actual policy and ideas. Unfortunately a large chunk of the population happens to be wildly dogmatic, which only serves to perpetuate this observable trend.
