Why does the color of the guns matter? And who keeps those sort of stats? The crayola company?

It depends, in broad daylight, the color of the gun probably doesn't affect much, but at night, white guns or those "cool" stainless steal ones are too easy for the other guy to see or reflect too much light. I prefer matte, no reflections, and I don't like lasers or flashlights on mine either. Lasers may be good sights for quick aiming, but before you get on target, the target knows where to aim. Same with flashlights, may blind once your on target, but if the bad guy is intent on shooting you, all you are doing is letting him know where to aim.

Who tracks the color of guns, I don't know, probably the gun manufacturers so they know which ones are popular to make more of them.

I wonder how easy to see in low light those pink ones they make for women are. Don't know if I would want a loved one using them, even if they are a "girls" gun.

The compromise is as follows. The gun control people get something they want and the gun enthusiasts also get something they want.

1. We get universal background checks on all gun purchases, including gun shows, private sales, absolutely anywhere that guns are sold. Convicted felons are ineligible to buy guns, and the FBI is alerted if one tries to buy one. Anyone convicted of domestic violence is ineligible, as is anyone who's mentally unstable. It becomes illegal to sell any gun without a background check on the buyer.
2. The 1986 ban on civilians owning automatic weapons is repealed. The import of foreign-made assault rifles (such as the Russian AK-47, the Swiss SG 550, and the Israeli Uzi) is legalized. A person is no longer required to remanufacture a foreign assault rifle, including at least 10 American-made parts. He may purchase one from a foreign factory with all foreign parts, and it may include an automatic feature. (It still must be sent to a gun dealer, not directly to him, and there still must be a background check.)

So, the gun control people get #1, the gun enthusiasts get #2. Vote if you're for this.

What would be done with the record of the background check and the sale? In other words, if congress passed a law dictating that every person over 50 be executed to lower the cost of healthcare, would the FBI have record of every person over 50 who might be standing behind their door with an automatic rifle?

Paranoid much?

Paranoid much?

Would you call a Jew in 1932 Germany who bought a gun paranoid if he didn't want the government registering it? We already have a government that makes it legal to kill your unborn children, has sold weapons to drug lords across the boarder, and has an attorney general who dodged contempt of Congress by simply choosing not to enforce it.
