South Carolina. There are many states where open carry isn't legal.

Now if you're walking down the road wearing hunter's camo and carrying a shotgun or deer rifle along the treeline, nobody is going to bother you. You can carry loaded guns in your car without any permits and it is legal. But if you want to carry on your person it is concealed and CCW.

    We're working on it.

The grip provides a hint of texture and traction that embraces your grasp, and provides balance. At times it provides a smoky aroma, especially after firing. It is also elegantly refined with no rough edges or imperfections. Although some describe its appearance as vanilla, others find it to be silky in nature, the epitome of the most elegant, fine and refined simi-auto carry pistols on the market.

Summertime I stick a compact Kahr .40 in my pocket, with a leather ISP holster to keep it in place. Works with jean shorts too, or Cabelas. Bit of a bulge but not enough that most people notice.

Ever test out a Kel-Tec PF9? IMO there isn't a better carry pistol.

I've been thinking about getting one of those to use for summertime carry. I shot one belonging to a buddy of mine and liked it quite a lot. It is a feather compared to my Kahr, and I'm okay with 9mm+p for defense.

DE is also great as an "interview gun" if you have a daughter, but self defense not so much. Fun as hell to shoot, but too bulky, takes a little too long to draw when literally milliseconds count, and if you miss then anticipating the next shot is kind of tough with your elbows at chin level.

It really is, the person who declares what they have is probably not going to commit a crime, logically it would follow that you can't ambush.

No, I prefer the gen 3 Glocks. I don't like the new grip texture on the gen 4s. What I do like about them though is the new recoil system like on the Glock 36 and interchangeable backstraps. The recoil system reduces recoil for the .40 caliber round but the 9mm has minimal recoil anyway. That's what I shoot. The big thing for me is the feel of the grip.

Cold enough out for a jacket - concealed. Warm enough out for no jacket - open. I'm a firm believer in having it and not needing it over needing it and not having it.

The only time I do not carry is at work though. Not welcome and will definitely get you fired. I will not leave it in my car, however, because I have had a car stolen from the company parking lot and would not want that haunting me. See I can give a little.

I started carrying a Kahr P380 with my summer attire, shorts and T-shirts. I chose this platform for summer carry because its about the smallest centerfire pocket pistol on the market and it doesn't have to penetrate multiple layers of clothing. Some think the .380 round isn't adequate but with the current bullet technology used now I don't know anyone who would want to be shot with it. In winter its usually a Glock 19, 9mm. Occasionally, I'll carry a 1911 in .45 acp.

    All legally concealed.
