I'm always nice to everyone, so such a law would not affect me.

That sounds like a line from a tampon commercial or something.

But it begs the question, do intimidating people lack confidence? Which, if yes, we can then assume that something causes a lack of confidence, being it only men who've claimed to be intimidating, we can get Freudian and safely say it involves penis size. Therefore the logical conclusion of this thread is that I have the biggest penis.

I'll walk into a store and the cashier will look at me, and I'll see his/her eyes go wide and other "Fear reaction" body language as I approach, even though I'm not doing anything on purpose. When I notice this I will always smile as wide as I can and say something friendly so they know I mean them no harm. This often provokes a sudden "relief" reaction, loosening of the shoulders, deep breath and so on.

Other times, some men draw up to their full height and glare at me, just because I walked by.

Cops notice me and look me over when I'm in the area. I went in this one convenience store, and there was a guy standing there half-hidden by a rack of snacks. The instant I walked in he looked at me and we locked eyes, and while I couldn't explain why I mentally labeled him "dangerous man". He kept watching me as if he felt the same vice-versa.
I walked slightly further in and saw the lower half of him, and saw his Sheriff's dept badge and sidearm on his belt... I nodded at him as I mentally reclassified him as "nonthreat"; he nodded back and thereafter ignored me.

Apparently it is something in my body language and/or expression; probably something I picked up back in my LE days without realizing it, like what some people call "Cop Eye".

It is actually kind of annoying sometimes. Occasionally I feel like saying "Hey, calm down, I'm not going to eat you," or something of that sort. :
I don't think it's all that uncommon for Military and Law Enforcement personnel to do this. Both are trained to be dominant and to actively seek threats. I catch myself doing the same on occasion, it's just a thing. If somebody pisses me off or I see someone that looks like they're up to no good, it becomes apparent what I think, and it can't be helped.

Goshin's just a big friendly giant.

Maybe if he opened his mouth more open and said, "Hello" with a smile, people wouldn't be intimidated as much. :-P

Nah, it's just an involuntary reaction to a perceived threat. I don't know about him, but I honestly don't even remember how to smile.

I don't even think that's possible. I have that kind of face where I just look pissed off all the time.

I've said before, I'm built more like a giant Tolkein dwarf. 5'11 and wide as most doorways.
