Who should exconvicts vote for? Obama or Mitt Romney

    Hi,

I work for the state of Texas. I work with exconvicts on a daily basis. I was asked this question last week.

Who should I vote for? The man then said, "after Obama legalized millions of illegal aliens, there is no chance of me getting any kind of a blue collar job." He then said, "republicans hate us. What should I do."

I have to agree with him on Obama's decision to legalize the illegal aliens. Most exconvicts are blue collar workers. When released, what are they supposed to do for work?

I am NOT defending any exconvicts. I do believe they are still Americans. I also know that some crimes are worse than others. Fact is, most will be getting out regardless of what you think or what their crimes were.

Who should they vote for? Who would help them the most?

Thanks for your vote and your time.

Obama is NOT going to win Texas.

I don't care. The question is, who should they vote for? There are a lot of exconvicts in Texas. If they believe Obama will help them, that's thousands of extra voters. Same goes for Mitt Romney.

Didn't vote as being an exconvict should not be what decides who you vote for, it should be based on your personal political beliefs. if you are more left leanign then Obama isprobably the choice, more right leaning then probably Romney. Note the use of probably there are so many factors to consider it isn't that clear cut.

Sadly, nobody is really playing to the ex-convict interest group in the political realm.

The best an ex convict can do is look at other issues and pick the guy who best supports their stance on those issues.

Until we have an era in this country where prison and justice system reform are "hot button" issues, the ex-cons will be overlooked repeatedly as a politically advantageous subgroup.

There's always Welfare, and which president would be more inclined to hand out free passes?

Tell them to find a 3rd party candidate.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

How about they research the candidates and vote according to their interests and conscience?

    Crazy talk, I know.

If this thread wasn't so intellectually disingenuous, it would actually be cute. A closet Republican pitting illegal immigrants against ex-convicts, as if Republicans have ever really cared about either.
