Who should exconvicts vote for? Republicans or Democrats

Sadly, nobody is really playing to the ex-convict interest group in the political realm. The best an ex convict can do is look at other issues and pick the guy who best supports their stance on those issues. Until we have an era in this country where prison and justice system reform are "hot button" issues, the ex-cons will be overlooked repeatedly as a politically advantageous subgroup.
Do you realize that if every single person that is incarcerated in this country was allowed to vote, it would like double the amount of people voting in the election?
 
For the sake of clarity though, the Drug War was a republican/conservative baby.

Dems piled on, but the only real discussion as to the wisdom of imprisoning non violent offenders under mandatory minimum sentences etc came from the left.

So to some extent repubs were complicit in the actual incarceration of many in the first place.

If FDR had not expanded the commerce clause, the federal government would have had to find some other unconstitutional way to stick its rather large nose in matters it was never intended to be allowed to act in
