And despite being challenged many many times, you are still impotent to offer any verifiable evidence that education majors who become teachers did not earn the grades they were given in college.

All you continue to do is to make pompous personal pontifications based on your own self imposed extremist belief system.

your major fail is that you ignore the real issue

are education majors generally dullards compared to other students at public universities? the answer of course is yes: as to "earning their grades" is a meaningless question because obviously the standard for an A in the teaching departments is far far far lower than what it takes to get an A in other majors. Its like asking if the football players at say Haverford earn their varsity letters-and the answer is yes. The more important question-for the purpose of this analogy-would be-are those who start for Haverford as accomplished as the varsity starters at Ohio State, Stanford, Texas, Florida or even Harvard and Princeton and the answer is obviously no.

and that is the true point. if the average GPA for teachers majors is a 3.8 and those students have the lowest HS grades and test scores we can safely predict two things

1) people from other majors would score much higher if they took the same courses or if the grading standards were the same in their majors

2) education majors would not have a 3.8 major or anywhere near it if they had to take the same course work and meet the same standards as other majors

Again-the Teachers' unions are among the most egregious groups when it comes to a sense of entitlement. I guess it comes from their professors telling them they are A students and then realizing that in the real world they are still the bottom of the barrel as they were in HS or after they got the results from the LSAT or GREs back

Re: Is paying your taxes Patriotic?

Paying your taxes makes you a loser.

How much of a loser you are depends on how many taxes you pay.

People who pressure others to pay taxes and take pride in humility are predators who need to be put in their place.

So those who don't pay a penny of income tax and who receive welfare are winners?

I think the dems call them IDEAL VOTERS

true-but what is hilarious is watching the left scream that its unpatriotic for the overtaxed rich to use legal means to decrease their taxes while the same laws allow almost half the USA to reap the same benefits of a "civilized society" without paying any federal income taxes

Both sides get on their spheals about what is american, unamerican, patriotic, unpatriotic, etc.

Its not worth paying attention to from any side because absolutely none of it is true from any direction.

And which you are apparently both powerless and impotent to refute.

Are you really as stupid as you appear on DP?

No, the Republicans are the ones that don't like taxes, I would call them IDEAL Republican voters.

Harvard has a football team??

Harvard has a football team??

Yeah, its not bad given there are no scholarships, and the team cannot have more than one standard deviation academic numbers lower than the rest of the student body.

actually I would say that his major fail is that he is creating a strawman - trying to argue to put us in the position of saying that education majors don't "earn their grades." Of course they do. What we are saying is that high grades in an education program are ridiculously easy to earn, even if you are a poor or mediocre student.

Again-the Teachers' unions are among the most egregious groups when it comes to a sense of entitlement. I guess it comes from their professors telling them they are A students and then realizing that in the real world they are still the bottom of the barrel as they were in HS or after they got the results from the LSAT or GREs back

On the other hand, this does explain quite a lot about teachers' unions opposition to utilizing standardized tests to measure performance.

Not so. Buffett is a fine example of Democrats wanting to pay their share, certainly not Romney, hell for all we know Romney probably won't show his tax returns because he probably hasn't been paying any taxes.

Being a successful capitalist makes one a patriot, regardless of how much they actually pay in taxes.

Yeah sure, rob from your country, that's a real patriot. NOT.

You are joking right? What was the last check Buffett wrote to the IRS because he thought he wasn't paying enough? Oh wait, doesn't one of his companies OWE millions in back taxes? Yep.

Maybe you should ask the question about Romney, when was the last time he paid taxes?

1. Romney may not have paid any taxes. As Kevin Drum suggested yesterday, "[T]here are probably multiple years in which Romney paid no taxes at all. This would very definitively be a Bad Thing, so he really doesn't have any choice but to take the heat instead." This would also apply if he paid almost nothing in taxes, thanks to various tax-avoidance schemes.
2. Romney may have made even more money from Bain. Before his "retroactive" retirement, Romney made "more than $100,000" a year from his firm for, according to him, doing absolutely no work whatsoever. But as Michael Tomasky noted, we don't know how much more than $100,000 he made in compensation. If it's significantly more, that could be awfully embarrassing.
3. Romney may have had to pay fines. If he tried to skirt American tax laws in the past and got caught, the returns might show penalties, fines, and/or back tax payments.
4. Romney may have additional offshore investments. We know about the shell corporation in Bermuda, the cash in the Caymans, and the Swiss bank account because of the one year's worth of returns. If Romney considered himself an International Man of Mystery for a long while, there may be other foreign holdings he'd prefer to conceal.
5. Romney may have taken some problematic deductions. Did he give money to controversial charities? Did he take deductions on his family's fancy horses? Something else?

buffett is great to show the dishonesty of the dems

Buffett structures his salary so he pays as little as possible and then whines about it

Buffett supports taking 55% of every dollar over one million from the estates of somewhat wealthy people but he has set up his estate so the government gets ZERO

YOu all are just jealous or spiteful towards the rich and ignore the fact that the rich pay too much taxes so people like you can have too much government that you pay way too little for

Buffett wants love and power. His schemes give him both and kill off his competition

Its fun seeing the "tax the rich" more envious legions ass kiss Buffett thinking he really wants to help THEM

Re: Is paying your taxes Patriotic?

The left quoting Maddow is like the right quoting Limbaugh. Zero traction.

That's rich. Comparing a blowhard pig that didn't even go to college, who yaks on a radio talk show, to someone the LA Times named "The Best of Television's 2008 Top Ten Political newcomers of 2008, and who has a bachelor's degree in Public Policy and a Phd in Political Science from Oxford University, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar. Yep, only a very uninformed right-winger would make that sort of comparison.

I love the worshipping of far left Madcow. Coulter's academics are as good or better than MadCows and yet the loony left insults her.

AND A LEFTWING newspaper praising a far left commentator

Just because Maddow has an education does not mean she is not full of ****. Would you think more of what Rush says if he did go and get an education?

Madcow???? The radio shock jock????? I thought it was MANCOW?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mancow

Matthew Erich "Mancow" Muller (born 21 June 1966) is an American radio and television personality. He is best known for Mancow's Morning Madhouse, formerly on Rock 103.5 and WKQX-FM (Q101), both Chicago-based radio shows that have been nationally syndicated mostly in small markets by Talk Radio Network. Muller's career with Q101 was ended in July 2006, when Marv Nyren, Vice President and General Manager of Emmis Radio, in Chicago, announced, "We've decided that the time has come for us to develop a morning show that will better serve the needs and sensibilities of this audience."[1] On October 22, 2008, WLS in Chicago announced that Muller would join that station as a weekday radio talk show host, in the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. time slot, beginning on 27 October 2008. Muller continued to host his nationally syndicated morning radio program.[2] However Robert Feder reported that Muller was fired on February 10, 2010.[3] Muller hosted a Sunday night show on WABC-AM from September 2010 until October 2011, when he was let go following Cumulus Media's acquisition of WABC-AM parent Citadel Broadcasting.[4]

Yup - as I thought - it is indeed MANCOW.
