Re: Is paying your taxes Patriotic?

Romney does not have tax havens in foreign banks. He has foreign INVESTMENTS which he still pays US taxes on.

Paying our taxes isn't patriotic, it's something you have to do or you will be punished. Not going around raping people isn't patriotic, it's common sense. If you rape someone, you'll go to jail. If you decide to not pay your taxes, you go to jail. Common sense =/= patriotism.

If he has to pay all those taxes which is due he rather renounce his U.S. citizenship and become a Singapore citizen.

Romney has tax havens in foreign banks for the purpose of avoiding US taxes.

He has made his money and taken advantage of the prosperity that the US allows him, yet he sets up foreign bank accounts to avoid paying the taxes on the money he earned here.

So the question is: Is paying your taxes Patriotic?

Remember, this is someone running for the highest (suppose to be) most respected position in the world.
Paying taxes, and watching your hard earned money go to waste, via your government sending billions of dollars a year to aid foreign countries; is not patriotic.

how about when the government approves shipping jobs oversea's , are they patriotic?

ABSOLUTELY!!! Every red blooded freedom loving patriotic american should pay Exactly what is owed and not one penny more. This means using EVERY legal deduction and loophole, and pushing the gray area envelope to the absolute maximum. The supreme court even supports me on this matter.

this is a falsehood, as has been demonstrated ad nauseum. Romney is in no way guilty of tax evasion.

Exactly. The fact that the President takes advantage of every credit and loophole he possibly can to pay as little in taxes as he can while passing as much as he can to his children without them paying the estate tax doesn't make him any less American; it just makes him a hypocrite .

Yes. The problem is that your statement makes no sense since teachers are some of the highest educated people in America and the very essence of their job is to educate others.

There are those on the far right who like to attack teachers simply because they are unionized and tend to support democratic party candidates. And both of those things are verboten to them since it goes against their own self imposed belief system.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

true, study after study-several of which I gave to haymarket over a year ago, demonstrate that pub school teachers tend to come from the bottom of the academic barrel in public state universities.
